Potential spoilers/speculation for Widows' Bay Under the cut...
Soo.... Patrica is the descendent of Richard Warren right?
That's why the serial killer let her go, the Island/Demon/Whatever the fuck is going on! - Spared her because it needs the blood of the original pact to survive?
I donât care if Mondayâs yuck
Tuesday, Wednesday tread through muck
Thursday maybe eat a duck
Itâs Friday, Flat as Fuck
I agree with all these things, But I don't know anything about deep sea mining and I am curious why it belongs on this list
Deep sea mining is bad because it destroys habitats, kills sea life, releases harmful minerals into the oceans, and can disturb pockets of stored CO2

widowâs bay is the first show iâve been invested in for a loonnngggg time⌠i dont think thereâs been a single episode thatâs lost me. no filler episodes. its heaven
Please watch Widows Bay on Apple TV.
Widowâs Bay is one of those shows that somehow seems to be flying under the radar, which is honestly a little rude.
Because this thing is fun.
Not in a loud, desperate âplease notice how quirky we areâ way. More in a foggy little coastal-nightmare way, where old island lore, cursed town history, haunted inns, sea hags, suspicious fog, and deeply strange local government all somehow belong in the same sentence.
And the weird part is: it works.
The show manages to be funny without turning the horror into a joke. It does not feel like a spoof. It feels like a genuinely spooky story that happens to be full of people saying completely unhinged things with total administrative confidence.
That might be my favorite part.
Matthew Rhys is fantastic as Tom Loftis, a skeptical mayor trying very hard to stay rational while the island keeps politely destroying his worldview. He has this exhausted, irritated, âI cannot believe this is my jobâ energy that fits the whole thing perfectly.
And then there is the town itself.
The city hall weirdos.
The local legends.
The suspicious events.
The tiny background details.
The kind of signs, headlines, maps, and odd little visual jokes that make you pause and zoom in like a perfectly normal person who definitely has other hobbies.
It has a bit of Jaws.
A bit of Midnight Mass.
A bit of Twin Peaks.
A bit of Stephen King weirdness in a damp sweater.
But it also has its own thing going on: cozy coastal horror mixed with dry comedy and small-town paranoia.
It is strange.
It is spooky.
It is oddly funny.
And it is way more entertaining than people seem to realize.
So yes, Widowâs Bay deserves more love.
Preferably before the island wakes up and takes the lack of attention personally.
everyone better start being nicer to my girl Patricia Iâm so serious
Widow's Bay ep 1x01: The Historical Society
A whale seemed to "come from nowhere" and appear on the beach while Father Albertus was taking a Sunday afternoon stroll after his sermon had ended.
Some are calling it a âstrange act of natureâ as a couple of fishermen just off the shoreline saw the whale appear to breach the shore and open its mouth to âswallow the poor fellow wholly upâ.
The whale then abruptly returned to the sea leaving the witnesses in disbelief. They returned to shore to tell of the sight to every townspeople that would listen to them. âIf it hadnât been so early in the day, I would have said drink had blurred their vision."

i think it is very depressing that like every aesthetic people try to emulate are of people doing things but they themselves are incapable of being somebody that does things⌠the mall goth 2005 aesthetic revived in 2022 but nobody goes to the mall to be annoying and weird and nobody lets themselves be cringe⌠the cottagecore aesthetic but nobody knows how to raise gardens or live self sufficiently ⌠the dark academia aesthetic but nobody actually reads booksâŚ. The obsession of looking like you are a type of person who does something without actually doing anything ⌠the Instagram effect

whenever i'm trying to talk myself out of buying something i don't need i always hear my old russian professor's voice echoing in my head: "WHAT??? WILL YOU DIE THE RICHEST MAN IN THE GRAVEYARD?" and then i make an unwise financial decision
i'm so glad i happened to see these tags this is the best thing anyone has added to this post so far
This would have had me crucified on tumblr 10 years ago but maybe we are ready for this conversation now:
If you are a socially anxious person, you have to socialize. Your panic/anxiety attacks will only get worse and trigger more frequently if you constantly avoid contact with The Public. Not saying that you need to be a social butterfly- but there is a genuine problem with not being able to order your own meal at a restaurant. And it cannot be solved by always having someone else do it for you.
This is a PSA to about 3/4s of the Portland Youth populace
everyone who reblogs this and is like "I ordered my own tea this week" or "I only barfed once when I had to give a presentation'- you are doing amazing sweetie. Have patience with yourself, you are relearning a skill so difficult that people get 4 year degrees to do it professionally.

"average small seaside town has 3 curses on it" factoid actualy just statistical error. average small seaside town has 0 curses on it. Widows Bay, Located in New England & whoâs residents experience the horrors everyday of the week, is an outlier adn should not have been counted
Okay, come on! Whoo! Party!
