I had the incredible honour to be the spot artist not only for one talented writer, but TWO!

Please check out @ro-blaze and @heleentje's incredible, incredible work in @zeldaficzine! Leftovers are ongoing, and in very limited supply, so if you were thinking about how sad you were that you missed out on a giant zine full of amazing fanfiction, then this is your chance to remedy! (I hate to be biased, but these were two of my favourite written works in not only this zine, but in the community as a whole, I was in awe reading both from start to finish.)

Hyrule once flourished. A deceptive truth, yes, but a truth, nonetheless. People have adapted to the malice consuming the world; it was either that or succumb to a fate worse than death.

For all the dread and hopelessness, there is something to be said of perseverance. Buildings crumble, crops wilt, and lives fade, but nature persists. Slowly, yet profoundly. And while Hylians have adjusted within a century, magnificent creatures whispered in myths have surpassed a thousand lifetimes.

The most popular tales incorporate elusive fairies. They are dubbed fairy tales for a reason! Renown aside, few mortals have seen them. Plenty have mistaken dragonflies and lightning bugs as fairies, only to discover nothing magical upon catching them. Elders from Kakariko Village state that a fairy reveals itself to one pure of heart. It might explain why kids often rush home, gushing about what they saw in the woods. Paranoid parents warn their children to avoid fairies, for they will lead young souls to twisted mazes and never return.

Amidst the cautionary tales are recollections of a fairy’s restorative powers. Any abrupt motions scare them off, but upon touching one, a fairy exudes ephemeral dust that can heal anything from stamina to grave diseases.

This particular story takes the form of an archive list and details the personal collection of Shad, our very own Sky Scholar, along with the archivist's notes about the work being carried out... ...except not everything is as it seems.

Summary:

The Princess asked me to compile a record of the restoration of Hyrule following the Great Calamity. Imagine that! The actual Princess of Hyrule defeated the Calamity and assumed her throne again, and the first thing she does after that is seek out little ol’ me! … Okay, I think she was really in Gerudo Town to talk to the Chief about some alliance, but still! She knew who I was and she knew about the work I do. She even said she’d grant me an exclusive interview! And to be honest, I’ve been kind of curious myself. Life after the Calamity… There’s a lot of talk about it in the stables. I’ll do my very best to create a proper record!
