I think the reason a lot of people are so incapable of accepting people are not the same versions of themselves as they were 6 years ago is because they’ve personally never had to think “is my worldview harmful to others?” before, so in their mind there’s no way something like that can ever possibly happen to others since it’s never happened to them

modern criticism culture genuinely fucking sucks, like why does everything have to be either "the best thing i've ever seen with my own two eyes" or "the biggest piece of dookie dogshit i've ever sat through" with no middle ground inbetween ever? I can't even just blame this one on the general internet falling into the black and white thinking trap in recent times because professional critics are out there doing the same thing and getting paid to do it. What happened to reactions like "oh it was cute :)" and "oh it wasn't the best but not the worst" and "I liked it but it had it's flaws" why does E V E R Y T H I N G have to be either 100% perfect or terrible????
