it might be cynical but one of the main impressions i got from mortgully: the last rickforest was that it was emmy bait π not that there's anything wrong with that. it airing alongside vat of acid kinda confirms this for me. they were obviously very proud of it as they should be.

Can we get Rick Prime back maybe. I liked him
as morty starts to finally get his much-needed character development, i see the sentiment of him becoming like rick prime, or like evil morty, but i feel like what makes morty both an interesting character on his own and as a contrast to both ricks and evil morty is the fact that even after everything, his instinct, generally, is to be kind. this is a boy who loves first and foremost, even the people who have hurt him. morty wants to do good, he wants to help people, and the fact that those traits still remain after years of being with rick is what makes him so special to me.

The really buetiful thing about this episode is how it go against the nihilistic message of earlier seasons "Nothing matters, everybody gonna die, go watch tv" and Morty is able to escape because he choose to not be violent and find peace and escape cycle of brutality. This episode show if we all just stop fight we could life in perfect peace and happines. Morty in earlier season would be punished for even thinking he can escape without sacrifacing some lifes along the way, i really love the new direction this show is going.
