she stands solitary in the drywall gym. the only color among the muted grey, whites and blacks in the gym is the red hoop in her hand. as strings of classical music draw to a close her pants grow louder. rest seems nonexistent to her as the music swells again and her posture stiffens. she rises on the ball of her foot triumphant, and crumbles. the hoop clatters along with her. she can feel tears pricking her eyes and tosses the hoop, frustration mangling her face. myunghee marches over stopping the music abruptly and collapsing against a chair. with practiced fingers she wraps her knee, trying to keep her face impassive to the pain. she looks to the digital clock, stark against the wall and twenty twenty-nine blinks back into her face. she moves to retrieve the hoop and a heart-achingly familiar face stands in the corner entrance. it almost feels a little bit like last year, when the gym was a little brighter and she was swept off with flowers and promises of forever. “what are you doing here?” she asks, turning to avoid his eyes. // @zauder

          ⸤  ♛  ⸣    the cigarette perched in between his lips was long forgotten as he entered the gym and started chewing on a piece of strawberry flavored bubblegum, the white stick thrown behind his tranquil steps, consumed and done for, a light trail of smoke emanating from the short end left. his hands were pocketed in his jeans, eyes flickering around the hallways of the immense building, walking in there with empty hands an alien feeling. he must had been really bored to having had found himself in the place he hadn’t stepped in ever since, not quite recalling how did he end up inside a building bearer of such golden, treasured memories. call it fate pulling and pushing strings back and forth until he dumbfoundedly arrived to the destination written in permanent ink. he peeked in a few rooms, coming to a halt once he located the one she was in, left shoulder and flank resting against the wide door’s frame, black tinted hues following her feathery motions in utter silence. apparently he had zoomed out, seeing how her question made him blink a couple of times and shake his head to wash away the numbness. in all honesty, he himself didn’t quite know why, or what was he doing there, he’d like to blame it to his oversaturated brain forcing his body to walk out of his room and get some fresh air away from the pile of work resting on his desktop. ❛ can’t a guy come by and check up on a friend just because? ❜ with a swift push he was away from the door and walking close to her spot, the tip of his tongue toying with the gum in his cavern. ❛ how have you been? is your knee feeling better? ❜ he’s kneeling in front of her and poking her leg by the time he was pronouncing the second question, doe eyes staring at her through long, thick eyelashes.

“ can i sit ? ” danny asks quietly, dismissively almost, pulling his hood over his head. he’d already fucked up once, nor did he need to fuck up again ― if he didn’t sit he’d blow his cover entirely. he was pretty sure they’d spotted him already. “ i mean, i’m going to sit down anyway but i don’t want a shouting match over a chair, you know ? ” he could only hope they didn’t think he sounded as suspicious as he thought.

          ⸤  ♛  ⸣    zander looked miserable, purple blotches painting the circles under his eyes and the hood of his pale dogwood hoodie perched up until the half of his head, the blond strands of hair exposed sticking up in every direction, call it bed hair, sex hair, or ‘i’m completely done with college and i want to commit’ hair, two out of three are the right answer. he was taking a long sip of his now third coffee, two empty paper cups adding to the mess he had scattered on the table ( multiple books opened, papers spread everywhere, pens here and there ), fingers tapping rapidly against the keyboard of his laptop, his typing not coming to a stop and eyes still attached to the screen as he drinks. though, he was forced to dart his eyes away from the device and onto the male at the sound of his voice, hues travelling up and down his frame before locking with the opposite’s. he shrugged, left eyebrow perking up for a hot second. ❛ sure, why not? as long as you don’t fuck up what i have on the table, i’m cool. ❜

“hey, i don’t mean to alarm you but your aura is black and i see death in your future.” hyunwoo spoke softly with a serious gaze. his gaze was rarely serious but he was very good at putting on a show. like now as he turned away from the other and simply went back to the task of texting. slowly he picked up his coffee cup and brought it to his lips before he eyed the other curiously. “either death or mutilation. it’s very hard to tell with you, has anyone ever told you you’re hard to read?”

         ⸤  ♛  ⸣     it was, like, shit in the morning, not a human hour. if you paid attention you could see how zander’s cheeks were still just a tiny bit puffy from his long night of sleep, he was wearing the first pair of basketball shorts he found and a white oversized t-shirt with some sneakers, not so fashionable, and to top the morning look, there was a ( now cold ) half-eaten  toast secured between his two rows of white teeth, that anime cosplay on point. his fingertips were tapping against the keyboard on his phone’s screen, isolated from the world surroinding him ── or at least that was it until his ears registered those words, making the motions of his digits halt and his head to shoot up, eyes fixating on the male in front of him before looking at his surroundings, just to make sure that was  a c t u a l l y  aimed at him, eyes blinking a couple of times once they flickered back to the man, skeptical. ❛ welph, i me─ ❜ he interrupted himself, holding the bread in his mouth and taking a bite, now speaking with a free but full mouth. ❛ i mean, i’m not, a fucking vampire or something, so death has to be in my future. unless i were an immortal creature without being aware of it, that’d be fucking cool. ❜ his short statement ended up in a brief ramble, head tilting to the side and dim hues glancing in the same direction as he contemplated the idea, a small shrug following shortly after. he chew what was left on his cavern, swallowing before answering. ❛ uh... no, not really. far from my personality, actually. you’re the first one to say that in, like, my twenty-three years of life, you just stole a new first time. congrats! ❜
