You Lost Me at 'Dead Wife and Daughter'

I was getting strong Tomb Raider 2013 vibes from the way Amicia was literally falling down every available slope (and screaming at enemies to 'come and get me, you bastards' or whatever). And somehow both Lara and Amicia can survive serious abdominal injuries, and then having their wounds completely submerged in dirty water.

Round about the 'you can outrun tidal waves of rats that can bust through thick stone walls' mark, I just started laughing. I just couldn't feel tense in any of those action sequences, because the shark jumped so many times.

There were lots of very effective horror moments, but they were in the quieter, stealthier periods. The parts where enemies weren't charging at you from all sides and giving you no option but to murder entire squadrons of trained and armoured soldiers (just don't get me started on that fucking beach battle, especially because I tended towards stealth and only got one Agressive upgrade).

And after all that, the ending just feels like a slap in the face, because Amicia learns nothing from her experience, and instead goes off to lay a wild goose chase trail for whoever the next Carrier and Protector will be, presumably so they can go on their own torture porn quest, and end up realising they've wasted their time at Hugo's grave.
