now continuing on Webtoons as "Zaku's Journal"

Along with reclaiming the symbolism of my hair length, I’m also on the journey to reclaiming my femininity. Both of which don’t have to be related. Being non-binary doesn’t default to any one look, and an outfit/style can mean anything to you. I’m fighting the idea in my head that I have to look androgynous to look passing as an enby. I can dress and style however I please and it will not change who I am. 

Personally, I’ve had traditional femininity shoved down my throat growing up and it still happens to me to this day. I’m working on taking it in my own time and pace, when my mood suits it with no pressure from the outside. I’m building better strength to say “no”. Though I still struggle and get irritated by hurtful words, I know my past self would be happy to know I’m in a much better place than before.

If your journey is anything like mine, non-binary or otherwise, I hope you’re growing too. It takes time, but keep fighting for you.

I’m an animator/character designer (and whatever else have you) who struggles between deciding whether to sleep or draw. I either don’t sleep enough or sleep too much and I also think pineapple on pizza is pretty great. I’m adjusting to adulthood...slowly but surely. It sure is a wild ride.
