Text layout and J-card & tape label design for the cassette release of Lord Bendtner’s second release, an EP. Client: Lord Bendtner.

A setting of text from Lafcadio Hearn’s short story “Hi-Mawari” from Kwaidan (1904) with accompanying images and a collapsible design that folds into a box. The cover text is laser engraved, the images are digitally printed on Rives BFK paper and mounted on mulberry paper, and the inside text is embossed into Rives BFK paper. 8 panels plus back cover.

For manipulated voice samples (ah, ee, and oh syllables), organ, piano, and analog percussion samples.

Postcard invitations designed for the Grinnell College Studio Art “BBQ Brunch” Potluck dinner. Client: Grinnell College Studio Art Student Educational Policy Committee.

Unedited chance composition created using a Max/MSP patch that randomly selects one of 22 chords and 13 unique melody notes from John Coltrane’s “Giant Steps” (plus 7 percussion samples) and plays them at fixed intervals. Sample playback was manually toggled on and off during the generation of the piece; additionally, the melody and percussion samples also have a random chance of playing silence during any given interval.
