Chapter 1: A Encounter With A Bloom.
I looked with a visibly confused look, I thought an actual talking flower?
The mysterious voice, who is actually a plant with white petals, is rather an expressive little guy, to my surprise.
Of course, this looks similar to the monsters I have heard in that fairytale, and I do actually believe it. But, looking at the green little guy carefully, it does not look like the ones I’ve imagined.
I thought a monster looked more beefy and scarier than this… Plant. Like, how does that work? Does that mean that there’s monsters who are also plants? Are there any monsters that disguised themselves as plants? Did the fairytale tell a big fat lie about sealing the monsters so it kept the truth a secret from us? The amount of questions I have from just seeing this plant have left my head burning into one steamy potato and melt my brain into liquid.
…Well, seeing how that went, I decided to ask the seemingly, totally nice flower about my questions.
"So you’re a-"
POP!
"Knew it!" Instead of a slap (as it promised), the white little annoyed flower somehow uppercutted me in the jaw despite the height difference, leaving me dizzy till supper. The punch was not too strong to hurt me, nor was it too weak that it cannot budge me either, so it was simply a gentle yet precise blow that made me stunned.
For some reason, instead of simply falling down, my legs have kept me from doing that by exponentially spinning. Somehow, it seems like I have become the weight of a feather.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…" I said with my arms swinging side to side.
The flower then pointed at me (…I think) with a readable expression, "you kids are the worst." It then told me very blatantly about what not to do, "you think that just because of my appearance that you can simply call me from that?"
"…hhhhhaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh…" of course, I did not hear a single thing from the talking flower who spun me right round and round. How rude!
The flower looked at me with a blank expression, and looked at me for a moment to see how far I could spin before I fell.
…
"…hhhaaaaaaaaaaaa-" before I spin any more, the flower who makes me spin also makes me stop spinning too. Seems like time has passed too long for the flower, despite it being a short minute.
"Are you pretending?"
"Huh?" My head and eyes spin confusingly, unable to hear the annoyed flower properly.
My brain feels very mushy from the stop of spinning, causing me to finally fall down.
"Ow…" I said as my face reacted in a negative light, tearing up from the fall.

After we both calm down, we then have a decent conversation about ourselves. The flower decided to go first for its rude behaviour.
"Oh golly. Sorry for punching you, I didn’t know that you’re gonna ask me if I’m a monster," the flower scratched its head with its leaf while making a weird grin.
I stared at the flower, neither annoyed nor happy about being knocked out spinning, "you should have let me finish what I’m saying first."
"I know…"
"…"
"…"
The two of us stared at each other with different expressions, one blank while the other was unreadable. The silence turned into an awkward staring contest as neither of us was blinking nor talking, until one of us did.
Unfortunately, it was me, and it was so close too! I think. I hope it is, and if it is not I will flick the forehead of that flower multiple times. And so, I decided to do the sayings as one loser would have to do.
"Well, I have forgiven you," I said politely with my eyes closed, "so do not spin me again, okay?"
“Okay…” the flower said quietly, not to make amends but to acknowledge that it was rather… Unpleasant for a talking flower. Especially when they’re rude even to a kid that just got here.
The flower then sighed with questionability, "by the way, you aren’t as surprised as I thought you were?"
A/N: “questionability” is an unofficial word made by yours truly, obviously mixed with “question” and “ability.” Frisk, since it is within his view, kinda has a hobby to mix and combine words for no real reason.
"Too tired for such things."
"…Doesn’t answer my question-" "Na-na-na-na-nah, I don’t need to elaborate further. Got it?" I flick against the flower’s forehead with my fingers, in which it makes a weird mumble caused by kinetic energy.
"…Got it," instead of being annoyed for whatever the current number is, the flower, with its face remaining expressionless, quietly accepted my terms.
I asked the flower about something, “Well now that is settled, what do you wanna be referred to then?”
"…Uhh…"
"…Uhh…"
"…Well, ehh..." ← the flower (seemingly) did not think through this at all.
The flower did not think this through at all! I think to myself, like, how much of a dud does this bud is before awakening?
"Just joking! Just call me Pop the Poppy," turns out, the fl- poppy is the mischievous type, not that I have not encountered one before.
"…Pop the Poppy? Like the type of…" I stopped before finishing it fully, as I do not want it to spin me again.
"Just call them blooms instead of flowers."
"…Got it," I mimicked the voice of that poppy, just because it sounds funny. I kinda hope that I did not offend Pop from that.
I then immediately questioned the bloom like I just woke up on a weekend afternoon, "so, Pop, wanna tell me where I am and why I am still alive despite being swallowed by a black hole?"
"The black hole? That’s not actually a black hole, it’s actually more similar to a wormhole than it is to a black hole. that is linked towards the barrier."
Then why does it feel like one? 💢 "Like one where the humans used to seal the monsters, like you?" I pointed at it, immediately seeing the dots within that lore.
"Yes," Poppy confirms my fast conclusion, "the barrier is, as you probably have heard of it before, a very powerful spell that was made with technology long since forgotten."
"Hm-hm?" I waited for the bloom to keep going with its explanation, sitting idly by with my hands on my lap.
"…Well, I guess the little old me thought it ought to be better if you experience something. Other than me explaining all of that boring schmuck, of course," Pop readies itself of its surroundings.
Before you could even think to say or do anything, suddenly there was a sound out of nowhere that turned the dark walls and the area of grass where Pop went darker and darker, until it became absolute black. And when the sound stopped, you saw the bloom in only white and black, with a red heart-shaped looking glowing thingy that encompassed a star within it between us.
You looked surprised, questioned by the amount of power the poppy had to turn the area into this monotone dimension. Of course, you looked at yourself too immediately as well, it looks like you have been affected by it too. You wonder what is gonna happen next.
"See that heart? That’s your SOUL, the very culmination of your being!" Pops explained with sudden confidence.
"Question! Why can I still think within my body when my soul is outside it?" You put my hand to ask Pop of this confusion.
"A good question!" The poppy then explains it thoroughly that a kid like you would understand, "there’s three (3) states of your existence: body, mind, and soul. To simplify, think of it being the flour, fat and eggs to a cake, and as you have probably guessed, we monsters happen to have bodies that are more suitable to our souls. Meaning that you don’t see my soul nor you will see any monsters’ souls either with that in mind."
"…And?" Pops still has not explained why your soul is outside your body.
"This darkness we are residing in is what we called an encounter, an space where emotions is the most essential to fighting," Pops finally gets to the point, "if your heart wavers, then the monster with the bigger heart will defeat you, and that is most certainly one you will have to avoid."
"But worry not! As long as you gain enough LV, you shall do no bidding from the monsters."
"What is L-" "I was about to say that in a second’s notice!" Pops interrupts your question.
"(Ahem!) What is LV you ask? LOVE, of course!" Pops readjusted its demeanour, "you want some LOVE, don’t you? Well you most certainly won’t get some from me!"
"k."
"At least you understand. Now, try to dodge my… Little white… ‘Unfriendliness bullets.’" Pops then summons a number of pellets that are moving towards you at slow speeds. You should dodge it like Pops instructed you to do.
But somehow, despite the slow pellets, you, with your utmost curiosity, decided to get hit by them in the forehead, almost knocking you out unconscious, “Oeuuu!” And look at that, barely hanging in the lifeside. How lucky. If you were a little bit too curious, then you would have troubles that you will never know about, ever.
"…" Pops, as expected, does not expect this in the slightest… Well maybe a little bit… "Eh? Well so much for it being slow, here’s a friendliness pellet."
The friendliness pellet, that looks rather green, that Pops has given you has healed most of the damage, along with your fading consciousness, "how bored you’ve been to be that curious? Regardless, she’ll be guiding you along the way."
And just like that, the encounter disappears and so does the poppy… And I am still in that position… Yikes.
Once I sit from that rather weird pose, which I wanna just talk away from that as much as possible, I return to my normalcy and rest for a bit.
"Huh? Where are you, Pop?" I asked very nicely, totally not screaming out of my lungs.
I looked in every direction my little two (2) eyes could see, still sitting in the very spot I have been knocked out in. Then, out of nowhere, when I turned to my back, I saw a tall, blocky slender feminine figure. Probably about two (2) to three (3) times my size. It seems rather friendly (I know which is mean or kind, seeing Pop being a meanie) based on how she walks, she positions her hands, and multiple tiny details I could see. The figure then revealed himself, resembling the furry characteristics of a goat while having a body similar to a human. Based on her clothing, she appears to be a female, wearing a dark blue robe that is striped with yellow lines with her bottom half covering all the way to her feet being slightly more greyish with stars decorated on it, the ends of the dress has thick fluff. Somehow, she is glittered with stars, with her shallow eyes being contradictory. She looks at you with worry, seeing quite the state you are in.
“Are you hurt, young child?” The blocky figure asks for my sorry state.
