It was sometime around 3:30am. The crisp night air nipped at my skin, but his embrace kept me warm, made me feel safe. I leaned my head against his chest, listening to his heart beat softly as my heavy eyes came to a close. Sometimes when I found myself restless while laying with him, I traced my fingers along his prorupted veins that trickled down his arms. Everything felt perfect, as if my puzzle piece had fit perfectly into his. My mind drifted to other places, and the outside world faded away, but when I heard his voice, which sounded at least ten times more attractive when he was sleepy, I woke right back up again.
“I love you.” He gazed at me, the tension between us was tangible. It was like electricity cascading through wires that was bringing us closer. His eyes were glistening under the light of the moon. Damn, I never knew brown eyes could be so captivating. The faint glow of the nighttime sun carved his already defined hollows of his face. And as I opened my mouth to respond, the ends of his beautifully crafted lips curled into a smile.
“I love you too.”
