Was thinking about my favorite boyfailure Xantine and in turn remembered how much I loved Sarquil (the quartermaster of The Adored) and how sad I am that he didn't have more presence in the book. (Spoilers under the Cut)
Because he shows so perfectly that slaanesh isn't just about sex, drugs and rock and roll. He obsessively keeps track of supplies and ammunition and I'm devastated about the fact that that wasn't fleshed out more. There's a scene relatively in the beginning of the book where there's very obvious friction because of his stock-keeping compulsions, it would've been such a great way to implement more interpersonal conflict within the Adored (which would've been on brand for a slaaneshi warband compiled of a bunch of Astartes that have very different ways of living out their excess) and maybe forego the involvement of that Khorneate cult, which in my opinion wasn't very well executed
