When you click resize, this menu comes up.

I’m sure you all have seen this menu before, but for those who don’t, I’ll clue you in. The top options control the length and respective width of your artwork. you can choose to alter them separately,

now, comes the fun part. unlike its aspect ratio locked cousin, the stretch and skew options work independently from one another. So, you can do things like

But that’s neither here nor there… what gets REALLY interesting is when your ratios are in opposite directions..

HOME RUN!

Now, before I let you go, I found out through trial and error that an angle doesn’t exactly match up with its negative dimension…

(Step 5: Angular ratios)

See? there’s a little offset between vertical and horizontal if your expect your text to appear natural instead of tilted. The only places that this offset reaches zero is at 90° (of course) and the rare and extremely dangerous 45° rotations.

Fortunately, I’ve already mapped out a few angles that I find are very useful in my works so, for your viewing pleasure… i present my handy dandy graph

All you have to do is match up your desired angle up to its respective complement and you have quickly and efficiently rotated your first word in MS Paint.

How to Improve your writing

This is something that happens every day in your life. A shift of your eyebrow in skepticism, or the way your lip may twitch to a half smile cause you’re trying not to laugh. These behaviors are vital for writing in character, because not only do the allow you to visually see what is happening but it is also reaffirming whatever emotion your character is showing.

So why should you write it?

Much of human communication is non-verbal which means you need to also translate this non-verbal reaction in a post. It allows you to greatly enhance the emotions of another character and always another person to ‘visually’ see how they feel in a post. Most of all, this will add depth and volume to your post to make it feel more real. IT will make your character feel like a human instead of just another fictional person you look at from above.

Below you will find a list different type of emotions and what sort of body language can be exhibited to them.

Three ways to accent an action.

When writing about emotions, there are different ways to verbally write them out. Each one is unique in their own way, allowing you to show more about the emotion.

Emphasize the Emotion. But doing this, you are expressing both the emotion and the body language. We’ll use a simple example. It’s short and simple yet you can sense he is happy. John felt so happy that he was humming a tune while walking down the hall.

Complicate the Emotion. Sometimes, even when you are feeling one emotion, deep down rooted underneath the facade of it all, there is actually an underlining emotion they feel. This is something you have to truly express otherwise no one will know. John felt so happy that he was humming a tune while walking down the hall. However, it was obvious by the way his nose crinkled that he was disgusted by the actions beforehand. Instead, John covered it up by appearing pleased today.

Contradict the Emotion. This is a little different than complicate. Contradicting means that you are claiming one thing when in fact its the other. In many ways, this has a variety of uses, from inner depth of the truth to what you see in person, or someone creating a wall. It could be considered a lie, but when is anything that easy? John felt so happy that he was humming a tune while walking down the hall. In truth, once he was in the classroom, his shoulders slumped and a pout crossed his lips when no one was around, showing just how displeased he was with the situation.

Remember that you do not always have to contradict or complicate anything. Sometimes all you need to do is emphasize and that will be just fine. You don’t always have to have an underlining complicated for an emotion to make it more enhanced.

Do be afraid to use the Thesaurus to also improve an emotion. Such things as “happy” is a nice emotional word, but think of how much more powerful it is when you heard some is “overjoyed” or “content.” She how these emotions matched up with a body language can give two different styles of happiness? Mix and match to find what works best for your character at the time.

Salty and Sweet Marshmallow Treats

Sweet and salty to the max, these tasty treats are addictive.

Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 5 minutes Total Time: 15 minutes Makes: 16 servings

Ingredients:

2 tbsp salted butter 3 ½ cups mini marshmallows 1 tsp vanilla extract 4 cups lightly crushed ruffled potato chips 2 pkg (1.82 oz each) Snickers Salty & Sweet, chopped

Instructions:

1. Melt butter in saucepan set over low heat; cook marshmallows, stirring, for 2 to 3 minutes or until completely melted. Stir in vanilla; remove from heat. Immediately stir in potato chips until coated. Stir in Snickers. Let cool slightly. 2. Using wet hands or buttered spatula, press into greased 8-inch square pan. Let cool completely. Cut into 16 squares.  

Tip: Substitute crushed pretzels for potato chips if desired.

Spicy Churro Empanadas

These flaky puff pastry empanadas with a Snickers Fiery filling are an explosion of delicious flavors and textures.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes 

Total Time: 35 minutes 

Makes: 6 servings

Ingredients: 

2 tbsp brick-style plain cream cheese

2 tsp agave syrup

¾ tsp ground cinnamon, divided 

½ tsp vanilla extract

¼ tsp chipotle chili powder

1 pkg (1.82 oz each) Snickers Fiery, finely chopped

½ pkg (17.3 oz pkg) frozen puff pastry (10-inch square), thawed 

1 egg

2 tbsp sugar

Instructions: 

1. Preheat oven to 400°F. In bowl, combine cream cheese, agave, ¼ tsp cinnamon, vanilla and chili powder until blended. Stir in Snickers; refrigerate until ready to use. 

2. On lightly floured surface, unroll pastry; using 4-inch round cookie cutter, cut 6 rounds, rerolling scraps as needed.

3. Beat egg with 1 tbsp water; brush over edges of each round. Spoon 1 tbsp filling onto center of each round. Bring edges of pastry together to create half-moon shape and enclose filling. Crimp edges with fork to seal. Brush pastry with egg wash and cut vents in center of each empanada. 

4. Bake for about 18 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, stir sugar with remaining cinnamon until combined. Toss warm empanadas in cinnamon sugar. Serve warm or let cool completely.

Tip: Substitute rolled refrigerator pie crust for puff pastry if desired.

SNICKERS Picnic Dessert Pizza

This sweet Snickers pizza with cookie crust and fruit topping will bring a round of smiles to kids and adults alike.

Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 15 minutes Total Time: 25 minutes Makes: 6 servings

Ingredients:

2 bars (1.86 oz each) Snickers, divided 1 pkg (17.5 oz) sugar cookie dough 1 small banana, sliced 4 strawberries, sliced 4 tsp prepared strawberry sauce 4 tsp prepared chocolate sauce

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350˚F. Chop 1 Snickers and slice the other Snickers; set aside. Prepare cookie mix according to package directions. Stir chopped Snickers into one-quarter of the dough (reserve remaining dough for another use). 2. Transfer Snickers cookie dough onto sheet of parchment paper. Dust top of dough lightly with flour and roll into 8-inch round, about ¼-inch thick. Transfer to baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until lightly golden around edges. Let cool completely on baking sheet. 3. Just before serving, top with banana and strawberry slices. Drizzle with strawberry and chocolate sauces. Arrange reserved sliced Snickers over top.  

Tips: • Alternatively, drizzle with melted white chocolate instead of chocolate sauce.   • Bake remaining cookies according to package directions. For ice cream Snickers sandwich cookies, soften vanilla ice cream and fold in chopped Snickers. Sandwich between cookies and freeze until firm.

SNICKERS Waffle Skewers

Serve these yummy waffle skewers for Valentine’s brunch. The waffles are laced with chopped Snickers Mini Chocolate Bars for a delicious surprise.  

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes  

Total Time: 30 minutes (+ 10 minutes standing time)

Makes: 12 servings

Ingredients:  

8 Snickers Mini Chocolate Bars

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 tbsp granulated sugar

4 tsp baking powder

¼ tsp salt

2 eggs  

1 ½ cups 2% milk

¼ cup butter, melted

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 bananas, cut into 24 slices

24 strawberries, halved

Maple syrup

Instructions:  

Finely chop Snickers Mini Chocolate Bars; set aside. In large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. In separate bowl, whisk eggs with milk; whisk in melted butter and vanilla. Stir egg mixture into flour mixture just until combined; fold in chopped chocolate bars. Let stand for 10 minutes.

Preheat waffle iron; ladle ½ cup batter into waffle iron to cover about two-thirds of the grid surface. Close lid; cook for 4 to 5 minutes or until steam stops emerging from the waffle iron, and waffles are golden brown and crisp.  

Cut waffles into 2-inch pieces. Thread waffle pieces, banana slices and halved strawberries evenly onto 12 skewers. Serve with maple syrup for dipping.

Tip: Alternatively, serve with vanilla Greek yogurt for dipping.

Creamy SNICKERS Whoopie Pies

A twist on a classic favourite, these yummy whoopie pies get a flavour boost with Snickers for an out-of-this-world treat.  

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes  

Total Time: 25 minutes  

Makes: 18 servings

Ingredients:  

8 Creamy Peanut Butter Snickers Minis, divided

1 pkg (15.25 oz) chocolate devil’s food cake mix

3 eggs  

½ cup vegetable oil

1/3 cup peanut butter

¼ cup butter, at room temperature

2/3 cup icing sugar, sifted

2 tbsp milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:  

Preheat oven to 350˚F. Chop Creamy Peanut Butter Snickers Minis; set aside.

Beat together cake mix, eggs, ½ cup water and oil until well combined; fold in half of the chopped Snickers Minis. Drop generous tablespoonfuls of batter onto parchment paper–lined baking sheets, leaving 2-inch space between cakes. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until tester comes out clean when inserted into center of cake. Let cool completely on rack.

Meanwhile, beat together peanut butter and butter until blended; beat in icing sugar, milk and vanilla until smooth. Fold in remaining Snickers Minis.

Spread or pipe tablespoonful of peanut butter frosting onto flat side of 18 cakes. Cap with remaining cakes.

Tip: Alternatively, use vanilla cake mix.
