It's been four or five years but from what I remember it was probably a 6 or 7. At that time I had a micro dermal and in the past had angel bites, belly button, and a lip piercing but that one was probably the worst because that area of your tounge is a lot thicker. Although the piercing it's self isn't pleasant, the after care is what's the worst. I would recommend taking at least 4 or 5 days off work because the swelling is pretty rough, you wont be able to talk very well. Also, if you're patient enough I would get one side, let that heal, than the other, I wish I would've done that! One of the most important things to do is go to a piercer that you really really trust. You have to be careful to have them placed so they dont hit the veins in your tounge. The person i went to was not my normal guy and he had put in bars that were half as long as they needed to be to accommodate for swelling. It was a diaster. Hope this helps!
