Yes, I do think we will still get it.  I feel like we got even more set up for it in the last episode.   The way Jemma fought when they separated them, ugh my shipper heart.  Which is still somewhere in the stratosphere and refusing to come back down.  

Here is why I think it will still happen (and worse case we have to wait to see it next season on a larger scale if things start to shake down how I think they will).  But for the eps we have left.

Dalton said in an interview that Hive knew that Fitzsimmons were the biggest threat to him.  Yet knowing this, he still let them both go last week.  He could have easily killed or taken them then and there and didn’t.

Hive tried to scare them both off.  Though with Jemma he used the wrong tactic.  He tried to use Jemma’s feelings for Will…and that backfired as she has more than moved on from him and accepted that he is long dead.  

Next time he will use her real weak spot, and that is Fitz.  

Daisy and Hive told them to back off.  Ward, Will, and Daisy know those two well enough that when the someone tells them NOT to do something they do the exact opposite.   

Jemma don’t go into the no fly zone…Jemma goes into the no fly zone.

Fitz don’t jump into the hole in the Universe….Fitz jumps through the hole in the universe.  

Fitzsimmons leave the GH alone….Fitzsimmons figure out a way to keep researching the GH

Fitzsimmons help us open the tool box….Fitzsimmons smuggles out the tool box and Fitz Macguyvers it open in a bathroom.

Fitzsimmons don’t try to help Daisy….Fitzsimmons….lol not gonna happen….  And Hive knows this!   He knows that they won’t stop doing it because someone threatened them.  If anything it motivates them more.  So I am starting to suspect that Hive WANTS them to figure it out so he can hijack it for his own means, just like Hydra did their portal research.   Had he kidnapped them then and there to get them to work on it then they would have 1. Been the hostages from Hell.  2.  Sabotaged him at every turn.   3.  Likely turned it on him.

If this is the case, and he let them go to figure it out where they felt safe, then I can very much see a direct reversal of Closure where it is Fitz being hurt to get Jemma to do whatever Hive needs her too with the research.   Hive knew that they loved each other well before things escalated last week.

Jemma got a wonderful “kick him in the nuts” moment last week when she shot Hive.  But she hasn’t gotten her “Woman on Fire” moment that Fitz got when he was looking for her.   

I’m sticking to my guns that Coulson’s hands will have a huge part to play, and since Fitz built them, that will put a huge target on him when the time is right be it by Hive…or the good Doctor Radcliffe (who totally has his own agenda going folks mark my words).  

They are going to play a pivotal role in taking down Hive.  Finding and building the means to do so in true Fizsimmons fashion, a mix of their two talents.

Notes: I have A LOT OF FEELINGS about Fitz and his mum, okay. I want something with them on the show so badly. 

The first part of this is angsty, but the second part is all candy-floss fluff! I’m weak like that!

p.s. Does anyone watch the x-files? The first part is inspired by the scene where Scully walks all the way to her mom’s house and cries in her arms. All of my babies are such badasses, but sometimes they just need their moms ya know? Cryyyying.

Once again, he has expended all of his energy and resources on a dead-end. Every time he thinks he has become completely numb, that there’s nothing left of his heart to shatter, and every time he is proven spectacularly wrong. Bobbi promised to cover for him until tomorrow evening and he’s tempted to spend the night passed out in the back of a pub somewhere. He’s never done that before, but it sounds like such a relief. He’s so very weary.

Instead, he finds himself driving down a road he hasn’t traveled in years. The lights are out in the modest home and he realizes it’s almost 2am. She’ll have been asleep for hours.

But Leopold Fitz hasn’t stopped moving in five months and suddenly all he wants is his mum.

He rings the doorbell incessantly until the house gradually lights up. He hears her gasp as she looks through the peephole. When she throws the door open, she crushes him into a hug before he can say anything. And just like that, he’s sobbing.

The last time he cried this hard in his mother’s arms he had just found out his dad wasn’t ever coming back. At the time, he couldn’t imagine anything else in the universe that would hurt that bad.

Linda makes him tea while he sprawls on the sofa, limbs askew and eyes painfully puffy. His breathing is still labored and he briefly wonders if he might be having a panic attack. Jemma would know. He closes his eyes and recites the digits of pi. His mum will sort him out; that’s what she does.

Who knows? Going on a show is, to paraphrase Pepper Brooks, a bold strategy, Cotton. Let’s see what she makes of the stage.
