guys, does anyone know of any strange twitter activity thatâs been going on lately?
my best friend who committed suicide in january just followed a musician on twitter. her account has been inactive since, well, her death in january.Â
iâm reaching out to her family now to see if anyone they know of is signed onto her account, but this lining up with jonghyun and suicide and the dates are close and itâs just making me really anxious, so i wanted to know if perhaps musicians could buy followers in the sense that the random accounts automatically start following you without their knowledge? iâm sorry, but iâm freaking out.Â
itâs just really weird and twisted.Â

if this doesnât prove that how we talk about idols or celebrities and how we treat them changes their world, i donât know how to convince you. itâs all fun and games, feeling like weâre entitled enough to discuss their sexuality, their weight, their plastic surgery experiences simply because they are âputting themselves out thereâ.Â
show business is a tough world to live in, regardless of whether itâs in hollywood or south korea - but thereâs no need for us to make it tougher.Â
iâm sorry this world wasnât kinder to you. i hope this last journey takes you to a wonderful place and that you can look down on the legacy you left here with pride. thank you for the last decade.Â
thank you, kim jonghyun - thank you for everything. rest easy.

1) Wanting to date a korean boy solely because he is korean is fucking weird. Wanting to date a korean boy when you've never actually met a korean boy is even weirder.Â
2) Along those lines, having a bias in a group isn't weird, having a crush on a member of a boyband isn't weird. It's exactly the same thing that happens with western boybands, too. However, you don't start thinking about how you can ONLY possibly marry a white, curly-haired dude because you like Harry Styles. It doesn't expand across white people, it just kinda stays Harry Styles. Jungkook is great. Jungkook doesn't speak or represent korean boys as a concept.
3) You don't need a korean name, Ashley. You even less need your own American name written in hangeul when you live in fucking Michigan. Not a single korean person even knows you??? I'm so confused? You didn't adapt some spanish version of your name when you were into Despacito, there's no need to do it when you're into DNA.
4) Being particularly excited when there are korean people around and getting giddy is... so incredibly uncomfortable for us. People don't find it wrong, but it really is! Just because it's a positive feeling for you, it's shitty and it's odd and it shows that you don't really view koreans as normal people that are equal to you, but rather some type of holy objects. It's fucked up.
5) Wanting to live in Korea and learn korean just because you like a few bands from South Korea is... so... fucking... ignorant. I mean, go ahead, follow your dreams, the world is your oyster, but if those dreams fade when your interest in korean pop bands also fade, perhaps you need to re-evaluate some internal things.Â
6) I didn't even think this was a real thing, but if you actually throw in Korean words when speaking english, you're a massive fucking koreaboo. What the hell. Who does that. That's so awkward. Our language isn't trendy lingo, it's... a language.
7) Learning the language, even living in South Korea doesn't actually make you korean. No articles or youtube videos can teach you about the feeling of being korean. Kpop doesn't tell you about our culture. Feeling like you know enough to consider yourself korean, feeling like being into kpop and living in Seoul makes you more of a korean (cough, Edward Avila) doesn't ever make you korean. Being korean is so much more than the cool, trendy, modern parts. It's not aegyo, Weekly Idol, circle lenses and some instagram aesthetic. You can respectfully be a part of the "aesthetic" without stepping over anyone's toes. Learn how to appreciate and find the culture beautiful without nudging yourself into it when you don't belong in it. You can learn the language, you can live in Seoul, you can listen to kpop AND be in love with Jungkook without appropriating or being disrespectful. The thing is, for so many of you this is just a phase just like your emo phase, your sulky indie phase etc. A few years down the line, BTS will come up on shuffle and youâll get all âohhh my gooodâ about it, because itâll be a nostalgic thing. But for koreans, it isnât a phase. Itâs just radio music that continues eternally. Seeing people use our culture for its trendy parts and knowing that itâll be but a âcrazy phaseâ for them is... hurtful.
8) Accept that what you like about Korea is just music. Treat it just like any other music you like.
Hey ! I just read the blue coat and cerruti1881 and I have a very high urge to kiss your hands , because WOW!! *_* I am not at all an emotional person but I was a sappy crying mess reading that fic. You are incredible. Thank you for the beautiful fanfic â¤
omg okay so Iâve been soft following u on my fic reading trash blog forever BUT your response to the ask about American interviews is exactly what Iâve been trying to articulate for the entire ama press schedule! Iâm so glad you said it!! Iâm korean American too and Iâve been staying away from these interviews because the questions are all so trivial and just awkward and theyâre treating them all like rookies itâs so frustrating I canât handle it. ANYWAY I love u and relate to u so hard girl thx
omg THANK FUCK someone related, i was so worried that i was entirely delusional n that i was missing something?? everyone's been so hyped about the interviews and this appearance and that appearance n i've been avoiding them all like the fucking plague cuz i just can't even stand to watch it anymore........... but omg thank u again I LOVE U <3 <3

Wait but literally in korean interviews they have talked getting boners on stage, watching porn, downloading porn, etc etc idk maybe ive been too americanized but although korean culture is more conservative its not as bad as some people make it out to be. I mean, hell, the show knowing brothers discusses almpst weekly having sex, females idols smoking, gambling, etc not trying to attack you or anything just wanted to say that bts are big boys n they can handle questions like these
Hi!! I donât take it as an attack at all, I was definitely a little bit up in my feelings last night and didnât think (that much) before posting. Iâll be trying to explain myself to everyone who wrote me:
Ellen became a little bit of a scapegoat I guess because it was literally the only teaser going around and I kept seeing it - I think my point with it was that almost every interview theyâve had in America has been so⌠sloppy. There was this one girl who asked who their favorite member was (which I still feel like isnât something you wouldâve asked 1D way back when⌠I mean, theyâre humans.. not⌠favorite things?) but anyway, she asked and Jin jokingly replied âJin.â but she didnât really react to the joke until Jimin said âmyself.â which leads me to believe she didnât even know the names of the people she was interviewing.Â
Iâm (of course) aware that people simply care more about the shocking, provocative topics rather than, say, their UNICEF situation. In South Korea, too! I didnât mean it in the sense that BTS would feel offended or scared or anything, I just feel like, again, they didnât do their research properly and just kinda asked âblanket questionsâ that could be asked to anyone and demanded little to no effort. (Edit: it makes it all seem as if theyâre just using them because theyâre trending, and not because thereâs a genuine interest in them as artists, and it makes the interviews seem half-assed and rude at time. TO ME. And that sort of spirals into the situation that thereâs a growing interest in the âcoolâ parts of korean culture, and that Hollywood is searching for ways to exploit it without being inclusive.) Like, I can imagine several of the journalists going âOh, the chinese boys?â, because thatâs how the investment looks from the outside. Which I, as a BTS fan, find shitty. But thatâs just me and my feelings again.
I donât know, media is all about clicks and attention in both South Korea and USA, and whilst those shows do exist, donât think that they arenât considered provocative and out there. And also, thereâs a different type of provocative when it comes to talking about boners and then talking about dating. Itâs illogical, but there is, itâs undeniable.Â
I mean, we all saw the JYP thing with the boys from EXO and women screaming at them not to date. Itâs not a secret that dating is a big taboo until youâve been an idol for the better half of a decade. Regardless, Iâm positive BTS can handle it, it just seemed sloppy to me. Iâm not trying to be a mama-bird and thereâs no sense of like⌠protectiveness, theyâre all older than me (Jungkook only by a few weeks but ya kno) so itâs really not about that.
Truly, itâs just become an internal fear that BTS in the states will boom koreabooism, cultural appropriation and fetishizing. Iâm assuming youâre Korean-American, so you know all of this already. There were people saying kpop wasnât a big enough category for BTS anymore??? That they were supposed to be called international now?? Whatâs that supposed to mean?? Theyâre producing korean popular music??? Theyâre still korean?? Literally besides RM none of them speak english??Â
Ok I could go on and on about this and perhaps I could never explain it well enough, but I hope it cleared it all up a little. Iâm not trying to bash Ellen in particular and I think maybe the whole thing was a little distorted to me because I was in my feelings for a weak moment.Â
âI just came to congratulate you.â you whined through somewhat of an asphyxiated moan, throwing your head against the wall in defeat to the sensations. You always felt a little vulnerable being exposed in front of Jimin, but seeing his eyes red with a mix of intoxication and aggressive lust made your confidence peak just a little, knowing what power your laced, black underwear held when tight around your curves.
âAnd Iâm just thanking you.â he smiled, pushing your shoulder back to the wall as he propped himself between your legs. The dresser on which you were sitting was a little shaky, but the view of your red tinted lips and shimmering skin distracted him entirely from the possibility of a crash.
I'M A HARD JIMIN STAN but it's real soft hours right now because i'm glad you're back. i hope things are going well with your job n i hope you're eating and sleeping and laughing enough. i also hope you enjoyed writing your latest piece as much as i enjoyed reading it đ°
THANK YOU SO MUCHHHHHHHH every day is a challenge but iâm trying to better myself and i think iâm on the right path <3 <3 iâm so glad you enjoyed it!!! ;-;
