Sana frowned at the cryptic text. She was about to write a response when she heard a commotion and some excited squeals that sounded like Eva and Vilde. She wanted to check what’s going on, and as she neared the entrance to the garden she saw Yousef, in flesh, standing by the gate and sheepishly grinning at her.

“How… what are you doing here?”

“My sister failed a uni exam so she is staying in Oslo for a couple extra days, and I talked my parents into letting me stay with her.” Yousef’s grin spread all the way to his eyes before he continued. “I heard there’s quite an Eid party going on, with someone extra special throwing it. I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

“Yes, there is.” Sana giggled, and realized she must’ve been staring at him like an idiot. Thank God she isn’t maintaining her ice cold reputation anymore, because she’s absolutely sure it wouldn’t survive tonight. She tried to at least control her wide smile a bit.

“What a wonderful surprise. You don’t look like you’re dressed for an Eid party, but I’m sure the hostess will let you join anyway,” she added in a playful tone.

“Come on in.”

Sana took two steps towards the rest of party, pointedly ignoring the entire Los Losers nearby eavesdropping and throwing her meaningful looks, but Yousef stood still.

“You… you look even more beautiful in person.”

Sana’s face matched Yousef’s shy grin.

Summary: Amira didn’t mean to fall for her best friend’s brother

Amira still wasn’t sure how it happened. One minute she’d been happy to eat all of Dani’s muffins and tease him endlessly with Cris and the next her heart beat would beat so loudly when he was around that it was all she could hear in her ears. She blamed the trip back to Cris’ home village, Zaorejas - the one where she and Dani had been pushed together because Cris and Joana were so in love that it gave you a toothache to be around them. Not that she wasn’t happy for Cris. No, Cris deserved all the happiness that she could get and there was no doubt that Joana brought a stabilising effect into Cris’ life. Gone was her wild weekend behaviour and failures to remember her plans and her sometimes lapses into being a bit of a dick. Happy-in-love Cris was a delight to be around.

However, Amira wasn’t necessarily a delight right now and it something newly perceptive Cris was picking up on.

“What’s with you today? You’ve been looking forward to this trip to the theme park for weeks and now we’re here you’re putting up that fiercely cheerful facade you get when there’s something bothering you?”

“No, I’m not,” she replied with a defensive scowl.

Cris rolled her eyes. “Okay, I’ve only known you since we both wore pigtails and fought over the pink crayon, but yeah, sure, think you can lie to me.”

“Nothing’s wrong.”

Cris frowned a little and Amira inwardly sighed. She didn’t like not being able to be honest with her best friend - the one person she had always trusted - but it’s not like she could go to her with this. How could she tell Cris that she was a little bit in love with her big brother and she could do nothing with those feelings because Dani wasn’t Muslim.

“You dance?”

This is actually the first time I am writing anything about Mazzouk so I hope you like it. 

Amira and Mohammed see each other around campus everyday; they see each other more than they see people they study with.

Amira likes her routine.

Well, not always. In particular settings. University is one of those. She likes knowing that she can go to her classes and have spare time to go get a snack in between each of them somehow. She likes knowing that she’ll see her friends from school at least a couple times a week when their routines overlap. She likes knowing how manageable her routine makes her day to day university life. It can get hectic, with all the studying and all the classes. But at least she knows what she can expect at what time; it makes her be able to relax more.

In any other setting, her friends and family would say, she’s very spontaneous. She is, she really is. But she takes her studies way too serious to mess it up by ditching class or missing the beginning of a lecture because she took the long way to class instead of the one she always takes.

Amira knows that if she was the one listening to someone explain this to her, she might roll her eyes. In a loving way. Maybe. Still, she likes her routine.

Some time in her second semester at the university, Amira notices that someone else also sticks to their routine religiously.

Can we only write for Yousana or are other Skam versions included this year?

Good news! Skam remakes* are more than welcome in this year’s exchange. You don’t even have to stick with canon Sana seasons or pairings. The only rule is that a Sana has to be part of the main pairing. The form allows for you to indicate which Sana pairings you would like write and/or receive.

How does an exchange work?

The rules are quite simple and lots of fun! Everyone who signs up will be assigned a blog that’s also participating, but it will be kept a secret (so like a secret santa!). They will anonymously send messages to their assigned blog asking for preferences (such as do you like angst or fluff more?) or even something like “how are the holidays going for you?” to get to know them better all whilst receiving anonymous messages from the blog they were assigned to. This way each blog will be familiar with one another leading up to posting week! (No blogs will be assigned each other). To find out more check out this post.

How do I join?

Simple! Just fill out this form and voila! you are now signed up to take part.

What are the dates?

Sign ups for the exchange start on 1st December 2019, which is late because some us struggled to get our acts together!, and close on 7th December 2019 and a few days later, you’ll be assigned a giftee. Whilst you are creating your  fanwork, message your giftee and get to know them. You can reveal your work between 1-7 January 2020! We know this is a tight turnaround but we would love for you to join!
