What's life without a little whimsy?

You couldn't sleep. You had been tossing and turning for hours by now, jealous of the way pansy was fast asleep next to you, soft snores escaping her lips.

Giving up on trying to find a comfortable position in your bed, you grabbed a hoodie and walked downstairs into the common room. To nobody's surprise, Theodore and Blaise were still awake, laughing over something.

Theo looked up as you collapsed into an armchair beside him.

"What you doing up so late, bella?"

Letting out a deep sigh you let your head fall back, staring out one of the high windows looking into the black lake.

"Can't sleep." you mumbled out after a few moments, looking back at Theo. "Where's matt?"

"Take a guess." Blaise spoke up, twirling his wand between his fingers.

"Tower?" you said, already halfway out of your chair.

"Bingo."

"Convince him to come down to sleep before 4am, will you?" Theo called after you as you stepped out the common room.

You let out a small hum, letting the door close behind you.

You made your way up to the highest tower, climbing staircase after staircase, careful not to step on any of the creaky ones, lest Mrs Norris be lurking nearby.

You reached the door of the tower, soft candlelight spilling out from under the door.

Mattheo sat there, a cigarette loosely hanging between his fingers, gazing at the stars.

"Hey dove." he murmered gently when you caame and sat beside him.

"Hey matt." you whispered back, letting your head rest on his shoulder.

You pulled the cigarette out from between his fingers and threw it aside, intertwining his fingers with your own. He gently squeezed your hand, pulling you closer to him.

You both stayed like that for a time, looking out at the vast abyss of velvety darkness studded with shimering stars.

Out of all the things in the world, the worst thing had to be you ignoring him. 

He could tolerate busy schedules, rude staff and even annoying fans with no concpet of personal spce but for some reason the only thing that annoyed the fuck out him, was watching you move around the house as if he simply didn't exist. 

And the worst part? He didn't even know what he had done to warrant such harsh punishment. For the past two days he had been starved of your affection. No sweet smiles, no kisses, no cuddles, not even one of those winks you would send his way when you were in a mischievous mood.

And it was slowly driving him insane. 

Many people would say he was over-reacting. Many people being his members. He ignored them. He would make you talk to him if it was the last thing that he would do. He had been wildly unsuccessful so far, as Minho graciously reminded him, but no matter. 

He would succeed. How he was so sure? He had a plan. 

First step of action: Check his calendar (again) and see if he had missed any important dates or anniversaries. Conclusion: No, he had not missed any important event. 

Second step of action: Think back to the last conversation you both had had and see if he had said anything to hurt your feelings. Conclusion: He sincerely hoped he hadn't because his memory was simply not that good. He could barely remember what clothes he was wearing yesterday. 

Third step of action: Wrack his brain for any memory of eating your snacks or leftovers. He had realised, quite early into your relationship, that the grudges you held over your food were like no other.  Conclusion: No, he had not in fact eaten any of your food. He still went out and restocked all the cupboards with your fav snacks. Just in case you know. 

Fourth step of action: Begging. No, he was not in fact above getting on his hands and knees and begging you to FINALLY talk to him. 

You were sprawled out on the sofa, reading a book while demolishing a bag of chocolates. Putting on what he hoped was a cute face, he collapsed next to you and wrapped his arms around your waist. 

Pouting, he pulled the book out of your hands and tossed it behind him. 

“Baby, i'm sorry…” he whined, hoping he looked cute. Quite unlikely since he had been running his hands through his hair all day but whatever. 

You turned your face away from and broke away from his grasp, running into your bedroom. 

Han ran as fast he could, trying to reach the room before you locked him out. 

You were lying on the bed, face buried in a pillow, your shoulders shaking.

His heart dropped.

He didn't know what he would do if you were crying. 

Slowly he crept closer to you and gently put a hand on your shoulder. 

“Baby, don't cry please, honey i'm sorry.” he whispered moving closer to you. 

You shrugged his hand away, burying your face deeper into your pillow.

Small sobs escaped from you, only they weren't sobs… They were snorts.

Small snorts as you tried to stop yourself from bursting into uncontrolled laughter. 

“YAH.” he yelled, pushing you onto your back and watching as you started cackling. “I thought you were crying, I nearly pissed myself.”

Gasping for breath you sat up. “I know bubba, you've been like that for the past two days. Ignoring you is fun, god.”

He pouted. “That's mean. I was worried I did something wrong.”

You laughed and shook your head. “It was so fun watching you squirm all day. You ate my leftover chocolate a few days ago so I was a little pissed initially but I dragged it out for fun.”

“Wait, that was yours? I thought lixie accidentally left it when he came over. If I knew it was yours I'd never have touched it.” 

“Aww i've trained you so well. Now cuddles?”

Without a word, he jumped, landing right on top of you. 

“I'm not moving for at least an hour.” he mumbled into your neck. 

You only smiled, wrapping your arms around him.

Conclusion: Begging and looking cute always worked.

His plan had succeeded.
