the plane crash was inspired by the Malaysian Airlines flight that disappeared, so in my head there were more than 300 passengers on board.

some died during the flight itself, whether from heart attacks, injuries or the shock of the crash. others survived the initial impact but later chose not to keep going like Melanie :/

but there are still a lot of survivors apart from Annie and enid. i won’t spoil too much, tho — that’s just how i picture it in my head right now :

Elias Bennett (42) — High school history teacher specializing in medieval Europe from Boston. He was traveling to a conference and had spent most of the flight grading essays.

Nik Dawson (23) — pizza delivery boy.

Farah Al-Hassan (26) — Pediatric nurse from Manchester. She was flying to Scotland to visit her fiancée after months of working exhausting hospital shifts.

Dale Slovak (69) — retired salesman.

Ryan Ahmed (32) — Detective Sergeant with the Metropolitan Police.

Oliver Darcy (35) — firefighter from London, went to Scotland to visit his parents.

Mia and Derek Holloway (40) — couple of married lawyers from London.

i mostly went with the book ages, although some of the show versions definitely influenced how i picture certain characters.

baelor is around 39, while anicia is about 30. she has just finished her residency and graduated from medical school, so she’s a brand-new surgeon at the start of the story.

maekar is 35. daeron 19. aerion 18/17. egg 10ish

enid is about 10 or 11 in my head.

joanna is actually the same age as daeron, around 19. i have thought about making her his love interest, but i’m still undecided. i know someone suggested pairing her with maekar in the new chapter which…. Perhaps my fault for making her seem like she’s a grown ass adult, then again 19 is grown ass in Westeros.

duncan is about 20. i think that’s mostly because i picture him the way he appears in the show. i can’t really imagine him any other way, so i just stuck with that age.

lady siena ashford is 20, and valarr is also 20, turning 21. since he’s the eldest grandchild, being unmarried at that age is considered unusually late by westerosi standards. most nobles are married by 16 or 17, so people are starting to wonder what’s taking so long! the same goes for siena. her parents are becoming increasingly concerned bc, by the standards of their society, she’s already considered well past the ideal age for marriage. in their minds, she should already be married with at least one or two children by now, but she still hasn’t found a match ( I did explain it in the fic but a reminder is always good)
