"Y/N!! Happy birthday," Kitty excitedly squealed as she greeted the other girl with a hug. Almost knocking the two of them to the ground with the force of the hug, if not for Y/N catching herself at the last minute.

"Thank you, Kits," she laughed as she tightly squeezed the Auburn-haired girl back with the same excitement. "You look amazing by the way," Y/N complimented with a smile as they finally pulled away from each other.

"Not nearly as good as you do," Kitty responded, watching as the birthday girl's smile grew wider. Y/N was wearing a red ribbon instead of the usual blue with her uniform and red hair clips adorning her silky bright hair.

"Good morning, darling. And a very happy birthday," a smooth british voice cut in — interrupting into Kitty and Y/N's moment. Neither Minho nor Y/N noticing the way the other girl's expression fell. An awkwardly polite and reluctant one replacing her orginially bright smile. "This is for you," the male continued as he pressed a kiss to his girlfriend's temple as he held up a gift bag.

"Oh, Lovely, you didn't have to," Y/N exclaimed although her smile grew even exponentially wider at the present.

"Of course, I did. Only the best for my darling," Minho replied smugly. Because as he'd told Kitty during Chuseok, his love language was gift-giving. But back then, she had thought of him as an anti-romantic playboy rather than the devoted boyfriend she was a witness to now. And sometimes, especially since the airplane confession, Kitty wondered to herself about what it'd be like if she returned his feelings then. Don't get Kitty wrong —She loved Y/N— but she couldn't help but allow her thoughts to wonder in the depths of her dorm late at night. "Covey," Minho spoke, turning to her and effectively snapping her out of her trance. "Try not to ruin another one of my parties tonight."

"Minho," Y/N reprimanded with a light smack to his chest. Minho returned his attention back to his girlfriend, feining hurt as he cleched at his chest.

"That was an honest mistake. One that I've apologized for already," Kitty responded back, bringing the couple's attention back to her, a little smug with the other girl on her side.

"But Mins got a point. Seriously only mocktails for you tonight, Kitty," Y/N gently told her.

"Of course! I wouldn't dare to ruin your party," Kitty said sincerely with a mock salute, smiling as Y/N smiles at her.

The party was in full swing by the time Kitty managed to find the girl of the hour. She was talking with Madison and Yuri, Minho draped over her and his arm on her waist as though he was apart of the girl's outfit. He might as well be as his red leather jacket deliberately matching with her red baby doll dress. "Hey, I've been looking for you! Happy birthday once again," the auburn girl stepped in, handing Y/N her gift to her.

"Thank you but really you guys, I didn't want any physical presents," Y/N protested even as she accepted the gift. It was true for the past two weeks, the girl had reminded all of her friends not to buy anything material items for her. But Kitty, just like Minho, couldn't stop herself from getting something for Y/N.

"Let me put that somewhere safe for you, darling," Minho offered, reaching to take it when the glint of his bracelet caught Kitty's eyes. It was identical to the one laid upon Y/N's wrist.

"Oh, those are new," Kitty points out teasingly, her curiosity intrigued by the discovery. As a matchmaker, she could obviously tell Minho had gotten the pair of them couple bracelets.

"Yeah, it's one of Mins' birthday gifts!" Y/N's smile flushed over her face — giddy as she giggled over the matching jewelry.

"Adorable," Kitty spoke, voice slightly strained as she tore her eyes away from both Y/N's gleaming smile and bracelet.

"Isn't she?" Minho interjected proudly. Kitty watched as he intertwined his and Y/N's hands together. The boy pressing a quick peck to the back of the birthday girl's hand before rewrapping himself around her.

"If I could get everybody's attention, please," Minho spoke into a mic, standing next to an extravagant two-tiered pink cake decorated with bows and flowers. Kitty watches from afar as Minho reaches out to Y/N with an wide grin and an adoring gaze. "As you all know this was all to celebrate the amazing, beautiful, kind Y/N today." Said girl hiding herself into his shoulder in embarrassment, he only chuckles in response while tucking his head close to her and whispering into her ear. Kitty looks down at her drink, suddenly wishing she hadn't agreed to no alcohol. "And so now I'd liked to invite everyone to sing along with me," Minho finishes before leading all of their friends into song. Y/N steps behind the cake, and Minho —ever the gentleman— hovers his hand in front of her, careful of her neckline exposing more than desired. The couple making eye contact as the candles are blown out and the rest of their friends cheer.

"Thank you for this, lovely," Y/N turns to Minho, slowly leaning into him.

"Anything for you, darling," Minho responds before closing the distance between the two of them. His arms wrapping around Y/N's waist, pulling her closer to him.

i still haven't watched season 3 but i'm in love with prefect gentleman boyfriend minho who calls his S/O 'darling'. i also think he'd be a very clingy and downbad boyfriend if you couldn't tell after reading this
