once you sit down, in an instant he's adjusting the papers in his hands, hooking his chin over your shoulder and his arms coming around you peer over you at his work. it doesnt matter that hes effectively doing everything one handed now, to him it makes it a little easier to breathe, to handle. because every so often you're pointing out something he'd glossed over, pushing his glasses up his nose, and brushing his hair away from his eyes. if you go to leave, because you have things to do, too, he's making a noise like a petulant, abandoned dog.
