I think part of getting better is complete ego death. Like you’re not above setting a timer for 5 minutes and focusing on a task. You’re not above doing a very simple 3 minute workout to start. You’re not above reading for 10 minutes a day when you first get out of your reading slump, even if you used to read for hours. You’re not above starting slow and then building up to where you want to be/where you once were. What you are above is total inertia. Doing something really is better than doing nothing. Radically accept where you are, radically accept your limits, and go from there. Don’t let your ego get in the way.

Deciding to be better

I was emotionally burnt out last night. Totally empty. My mom even had to feed me dinner as I couldn't bring myself to. Tears just flowed while I ate. I am better this morning. I have rested and emotionally processed. I promise to stick to myself. Because people-pleasing even if you think it's for the other person's sake, to not have friction, is a form of betrayal. Experienced that myself this morning. When they really said what they think, I felt betrayed because it's 180 degree from what they said in the beginning. Even if the truth can hurt in the beginning, honesty always wins. Always. Just be kind in saying it. Betrayal hurts way more and longer in the long run. It breaks trust and makes it hard for them to trust your words.

Apparently people-pleasing doesn't please people. Instead it is betrayal to both parties, yourself and them. So just stick to being yourself.
