Protection edition

Don’t get me wrong, I love a good crystal necklace but you don’t get much say in what intentions it manifests and the energy it releases. Enchanting a pendant can open a whole new realm of possibilities using herbs, stones and candles to bring in all the energies that you wish to carry with you in a single necklace.

For this beautiful cicada pendant I wanted it to bring me protection, luck and power.

What you’ll need

A black candle - I used two

Protection herbs and incense: I used a bay leaf, black salt, dragons blood and lavender

For power I used snake skin and for good luck I used cinnamon - these intentions were secondary so I only used a single herb for each

Protective crystals: I used black tourmaline and clear quartz

Steps:

Cleanse your space in your preferred method

Get in the right headspace: you can do this by meditating on your intentions

Set up your alter with the surrounding the pendant with crystals and your black candle. Light them up

Call on any spirit guides to aid you, and begin focusing on your intention

Touch the pendant, ask it for aid and begin envisioning your energy seep into it as you focus

Sprinkle each herb onto your pendant - setting your intention with each one. Tell your pendant what the herb will do

Do the same thing with your crystals, touch them and then your pendant. Infusing those vibes

Talk to your pendant - reiterate what you want, thank it, etc

Let it sit on your alter. Allow the herbs and crystals to stay with it until your candle finishes burning

Protection is so important! And having a pendant that you personally enchant is so powerful! Why not give your favourite necklace a little magic?

Bonus extra step:

Every morning before I put any necklace on I always give the pendant a little kiss and ask it for aid in my day. It just feels right haha

And while yes, many Wiccans have culturally appropriated elements in their practices and plenty of Wiccans are racist, those are not a part of the fundamental principles of Wicca, and it's pretty easy to decolonize a practice.

But fuck man, what do I know. I'm just a person who has been practicing and studying this for two and a half decades. You want to prove your case, actually point out where Wicca is supposedly racist.

You want me to listen to you? Cite a single example.

Just one. Go for it. Give me one example about how the core beliefs of Wicca are racist.

Well those were all borrowed from the four Celtic fire festivals or Season changes, so we're good there.

Since we literally just covered the entire religious core of Wicca you're going to have a hard time convincing me, but I'll fucking sit here till you can tell me.

I'll preface this by saying I'm supportive of transgender people, nonbinary, LGBTQIA+ (being bi myself) and race and akin colour. I'm not discriminating anyone here, this is just how I feel on this.

You can be whatever the fuck you want. Wiccan and nonbinary? Go for it. Christian and goth? Fuck yeah. Bisexuality atheist? You do you. It saddens me when I see shit like this because it's like no one can enjoy anything anymore because it's "evil" in one way or another. I want to know how Wicca is inherently homophobic and transohobic? You've provided no proof to your claims and you expect this person to change their way and grovel at your feet "Oh I'm so so sorry I didn't know I hope I havent upset you with my life choices." But they won't and they shouldn't, and here's why.

Christianity is literally homophobic and sexist. Example:

Leviticus 20:13 - "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

And

Genesis 3:16 - "To the woman he said, “I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you.”

But for some reason Christianity is still widely accepted and practiced, and any homophobic/sexist teachings are passed off as God's word or "it says so in the Bible so it's obviously OK."

So if people can practice Christanity knowing this bullshit, why can't this person be nonbinary AND wiccan?

I also saw a post that I was part of recently too, about how white witches need to be reminded they "they're the grandaughters of the people that held the torches." And I'm not one for telling people that their opinions are wrong and invalid, but honestly it's so sad because the way I see it Wicca is a free belief/faith for all, no Bible or book to tell us who to love and hate, no strict rules sorry celebrating gods and goddesses otherwise were all going to hell...none of that. You can do what you want, be who you want, practice as little or as much as you like but "with harm to none, do what ye will." That's literally it. Don't be a dick to people. Do what you want but fucking be nice. Period.
