Young by Design

With Nina and Mike's Save the Dates, we wanted to capture the spirit of the couple while also showcasing the Canadian wilderness that surrounds the luxe, rustic resort, Arowhon Pines, where the wedding is taking place. 

Motorboats are not allowed on the resort's remote lake and, by situating the viewer in a canoe with the envelope liner, we set the tone for a peaceful, unplugged vibe. We carried the canoe motif throughout the design with crossed paddles on a custom monogrammed postage stamp. 

A gorgeous engagement photo taken by The Robins Nest in NYC enabled us to subtly nod to the couple's urban home, while still maintaining the nature aesthetic—and the slanted lines of the garden path enabled us to mirror the triangular form from the canoe liner and red resort roof, too. 

I’ve committed to a fitness challenge for the month of May. Here are my three fuelling tips that have been getting me through it.

NUUN TABS

I pop Nuun Active tabs into my water bottle before spin class. It’s got lots of electrolytes (Potassium, Vitamin C, Magnesium, etc) to replenish when you sweat it all out. It’s like a sweet little treat when you are pushing yourself to your edge. I like the raspberry or orange flavours. 

GINGER TUMERIC CHILI SHOTS

I used to spend a small fortune buying these, until we got a juicer and started making our own. Ginger is great for digestion and tumeric is anti-inflammatory. Toss a whole tumeric, ginger, a lemon in the juicer and a bit of oil of Oregano. Sometimes we put chilli peppers in it. It has a real kick to it, so it wakes me up before my morning spin class. If you want to ease into it, toss some honey or maple syrup or bits of pineapple to soften the bite. 

WALNUTS WITH HIMMALYAN SALT

I like to buy the natural half walnuts and spray them with olive oil. Then sprinkle some Himmalyan salt on top. Not only is this combo delicious but it’s got lots of health benefits.

Walnuts have a high amount of anti-inflammatory Omega-3 which improves your cognitive function and nervous system and antioxidants to help your skin.

I first read about the benefits of this pink salt on the bulletproof blog (https://blog.bulletproof.com/mastering-the-mid-day-recharge-in-only-15-minutes/) Not only does it taste better than sea salt it’s also reduces adrenal stress.

Olive oil is is rich in monounsaturated fats and important vitamins and antioxidants.
