the stranger’s odd, lingering look nearly passes undetected from the admittedly rusty eye of veronica mars; the brief moment of imbalance was significant, to say the least. but unlike her usual bouts of leaping conclusions, there wasn’t a beaten path to venture --- not a wisp that she could grasp on and obsess over. but c’mon, veronica. embrace the absence of frenzy.
veronica nearly snorts at his initial assertion, but not out of dubiousness. she was the expert of telltale signs. the blonde crossed her arms tightly, eyebrows quirked as she leaned in conspiratorially, eyes sparkling dimly as the former p.i prepared to arm herself with the secrets of the world.
‘ join the other side? petrelli isn’t the lesser of the two evils? i appreciate the career advice, but unless you’re gonna try and convince me, i --- ’
convince, inform. she’ll admit the transparency, but the implication would’ve be clear anyway. veronica shuts her mouth and purses her lips, looking heavenward as if thinking aloud from her own inquisitorial tangent. there it was. the bait --- that something was bigger than it seemed, and it felt so good to comply. what was that about the absence of frenzy? her face falls apologetically and she shrugs, all bravado seemingly lost and forgotten.
‘ --- i might have to call mike from security! y’know, our very own t.j barnes? all i need to do a double-tap against the wall and he’ll gladly demonstrate the fruits of cardio and a decent core workout. ’
veronica leans against the doorframe, the tip of her right heel tapping unceremoniously against the other side of the threshold. she shrugs and seems to resign apologetically against the cushion of her spine.
‘ and i’m a pacifist, really. so, you know. convince. ’
