currently having thoughts about how dean is someone who needs to process things internally by himself and then once he gets his own head wrapped around whatever he's feeling, he can verbalize it. this is a very normal way to experience emotions and deal with shit (it's not the only normal way, but there's nothing abnormal or unhealthy about it). however, he's often put in situations where he either isn't given the space to process things internally which results in him either not verbalizing them at all or verbalizing them in an unhealthy manner (usually by lashing out in some way). sometimes it's just that sam won't stop fucking pestering him to talk about something he's not ready to talk about and sometimes it's that the world is ending and there's no fucking time to process it. i don't really have a point to this, just that i think the idea that dean just doesn't ever look at and/or deal with his emotions is patently false. just because it's happening internally doesn't mean it's not happening. and also sometimes the end result is "this is how i feel and it's not good" and there's not really anything to be done about it? like just saying something out loud doesn't automatically mean you're no longer dealing with it. anyway. thinking thoughts and stuff.
