and why I think chapter 2’s “genocide” (for lack of a better word) route is possibly more of a psychological hit than Undertale’s.

A lot of the feelings that come from Undertale’s different paths is the change in atmosphere and dialogue. Experiences that you had with certain characters change, the music differs, and ultimately the story goes in a direction it hadn’t gone it before. You unlock new aspects and gain a better understanding of the story. It’s natural to want to exhaust all options with a game as well, to see every cg and ending, and Flowey even scolds you for it, but you find satisfaction in the end.

What makes Noelle’s story so different from that is we already know that the outcome will always be the same. Most fans went into Deltarune aware of this, and yet there is still an option to take a horrific path. Aside from an extra boss (that actually already exists in the pacifist/neutral route), everything ends almost exactly the same. But the feeling is different. And that feeling is entirely your fault. You literally muscled your way through a path (considering how many times you have to tell Noelle to do something before she does it) to get absolutely nothing out of it.

I think it's heavily implied that Kris self-harms, and I wondered what scars could turn into in the dark world. Got a little carried away with the colors on this one but i really like how it turned out :3
