I love this concept of Lucy being absolutely certain that Schroeder likes her, and what's hindering their relationship is the piano with Beethoven. Technically speaking, it's true, especially since there's a special where Lucy tells Schroeder to leave town and he doesn't believe her, but when he realizes it's all true, he starts to miss her. Besides that, there's a comic strip where he freaks out because Lucy wants to sell his piano to buy pots and pans when they get married. What irritates him most isn't the wedding, but her wanting to sell the piano.
