when i was about eight years old i got banned from the online pictionary game “iSketch” for unclear reasons & then sent them an email whose subject line was “I am absolutely infuriated”

I don’t understand. All i want is a place with two bedrooms and a dishwasher. And a washer/dryer. And a balcony. Near a park. In a busy expensive city. For 2 dollars

I really don’t get it. All i want is a part time job that pays like a full time job. Low stress, not in an ugly office, not interacting with the public all day, and generally fun. Near my 2 dollar apartment.

it's kind of cultural tbh. growing up in my family talking about how bad something sucks was a way of bonding and having fun. kvetching. i recognize that it is sometimes not kind or good for us. but i think there's a place for it. maybe people don't realize the lightheartedness of it.

even though i've lived in the US basically my entire life i do sometimes feel a cultural disconnect because of how i was raised. criticizing was fine, good even. excessive friendliness was weird. communication was DIRECT. smiling was not necessary. arguments were not avoided. any time my friends were over they were like "uh is everything ok?" thinking we were fighting just cause the language and vibe felt too harsh to them. when i was at their places i was like "did your parents like... just meet?" it felt so unbelievably sterile to me.
