I tried something out, and added some of my own little postcard-sized prints to my shop!

There's a lot, so I thought I'd show them in smaller sets here based on theme. These ones are inks based on the paintings of Caspar David Freidrich (1774-1840).

Prompt 29: Second Death

Matthew 13:49-50

This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Revelation 20:12-15

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

About time I'd bring back my angry-depressed pirate dog!

He used to be one of my most loved characters by my followers and I drew him so much in the 2018s. Been meaning to draw him again for a long time, but every time I'd doodle him it felt super forced.

Elves are particularly desirable as wet nurses thanks to the folk wisdom/myth that elvish breast milk, which feeds their own babies their first mouthfuls on the way to their own absurdly long lifespans, must bestow some pretty mystic benefits to a newborn. There are many popular tales of varying degrees of likelihood about heroes and kings nursed on elvish milk, and a strong general impression that elf milk = magic health tonic.

Anyway, elves themselves are additionally not very common wet nurses. Firstly because elves have very long lifespans and low reproductive rates, so they don't get pregnant often, secondly because they're got a smaller overall population as well, and thirdly because they have their own racism and a lot of them look down on humans as sort of smarter than average apes with an outsized penchant for destruction, whereas they of course are the only actual real people in the whole world. You're as likely to find a human mother willing to nurse a chimp as an elf willing to nurse a human.

However, unlikelihood is not impossibility, and even elves have members of their society who will do a lot of things if the pay is good. There are some magical herbs that can reliably help induce lactation in elves with compatible constitutions, and if you're an elf in exile or otherwise living outside the bounds of elven society, or in the bottom rungs of their extreme hierarchies, then a gig as a wet nurse to some human king's spawn is actually a pretty sweet deal. They usually want you to stick around for however long they're pumping out kids, if not longer, it's a gateway to being some human court's designated elven advisor (easy job), the pay is hefty and humans reproduce so often that if you want that kind of work there's almost always some rich idiot from some kingdom who is willing to shill out for it. You might have to travel pretty far depending on where you are and how much money you want to make, but that's true of most work.
