ST MARTiiNS is Mark Johnston and Katie Lynch (formerly of Seams). The poppy, mathy vibes are still present, but the delivery has matured. Hours of fun were had sessioning on their jams as drummer and percussionist. This is the first of 3 songs, so watch their space.

‘Swells/Repels’ is the culmination of a couple of days recording our angry, angular affair at up at our practice space.

I feel like Jay Rock is still being slept on. Admittedly, his earlier efforts appeared average as the rest of TDE’s roster stormed their way to the top of the chain. ‘90059′ is pudding proof that he puts the work in.

It’s taken me a while to settle into this album ...I think it’s that goddamn anaemic drum sound (why the hell didn’t they follow the current and use those bombastic samples everyone else uses?!). I think sometimes music needs to catch you in the wrong frame of mind so you can feel it.

I happened upon some frustrating idiocy last week and was pretty pissed when ‘Rot’ came on shuffle and it just took me away. That nasty-ass groove had me holding back a headbang for the entirety of my public commute... Now I want a 7-string and an AxeFX ...and some patches!

Been sleeping on Don Broco’s newer releases, but I stumbled across this earlier and remembered why they’re probably the only ‘lad’ rock band I genuinely like. Dat chorus is so bombastically 80s ...like Genesis or something, in the most awesome way.
