We can rule out the first 2 as, assuming Jenkins is the same age as Isaac (around 35), he wouldn't have even been born for either of these as he would have been born in 1742-1743. Even if he was older than Isaac for this, he wouldn't have been in America anyway considering he is a British soldier, not a colonist. We can also rule out the last option, as the Revolutionary war ended in 1783 and so he was already dead as of 1796. Which leaves that he was at Charleston in 1778, a year after Isaac died and 2 years after Nigel had died. However, we don't have a timeline for how long he was there, as he clearly shifted course from South Carolina to New York at some point, meaning there is a chance Nigel isn't even his Lieutenant Colonel and he belongs to a different group.
