A cascade of light; divinity's fandango
I catch you in the cascade of light; in the penumbra cast by trees, where divinity’s fandango inspires—In the breeze; cold or warm. In the setting sun that blinds my eyes before it slips behind the mountain range. In the opalescent moon; embedded as a code of tranquility within the song of tree frogs and cicadas.
I reach for your essence knowing you will always escape me. I am a child. You are eternity. I reach for you knowing you are magic; a mystical presence; an overwhelming assurance that divinity exists. I catch you in tiny breaths that engulf my lungs, but always only from the corner of my eyes; where I cannot comfortably forecast a future.
But I see you, nevertheless, I see you; and it bids me to eat of faith…and it nods when I am devoted; and it speaks a loud silence when I rebel.
I desire nothing else than to be close; closer yet, to the center of where love throbs within intimacy. I can nourish myself this way when I believe in the comforts of mystery; and I can catch you when I am as still as the calm before a storm—
And I can recharge and regain strength when I look for you or evaporate into an aura of discontent when I do not.
On most days you remain elusive; transient; all being in my soul as a result. I accept that I do not have the capacity to wrap my head fully around you or my drive to be near you. I admit that I live to learn of myself and you; relearn and accept all that I cannot change.
