she chuckled softly, shaking her head, “ it’s okay. i would have thought i would have changed at least a little bit. i mean, i’m taller and cuter. i haven’t seen you standing up, but i assume you’re much taller too. ” her head tilted to the side, the corners of her lips turning upward in a bright smile. “ i really do. i even kept the little ring from the cupcake that you proposed to me with. ” yeri reached out to tousle jaeshin’s hair a bit, “ we’ll see about that. now who’s this little one? ” she questioned, eyes drawn to the pram.

“ like, on a test or on a person? either way, no. i’ve never cheated on anyone or anything in my life. i’m too smart to cheat. ”

the confusion she was feeling deepened at his broken sentences, but when he mentioned something about marriage and knowing her when they were kids, it hit her. “ oh! ” she exclaimed nodding her head. memories of the birthday party flashed through her head, offering a shy boy the icing on her cupcake, wanting to make friends. it had been sweet and cute and yeri still had the cheap, plastic ring that had been on top of the cupcakes. she saved it for some reason. “ right, that’s me. yerin, yeri, whichever. i remember you though. ” she nodded her head, sitting down without an invitation. “ we met at a birthday party and i gave you the icing on my cupcake. you’re my husband, jaeshin. how could i forget you? ” she questioned with a small tilt of her head.

yeri had barely been getting any sleep, no matter how much melatonin she tried or essential oils, sleep was just difficult. she decided to that it would be a good idea to get a cup of coffee before she went to the bookstore to work, she’d do anything to wake up and just not feel awful. she smiled at the barista when they called out her name, letting her know that her order was ready, but then she head a voice call out her name. her brows drew down, confusion coloring her features as she glanced around to find the source when her eyes met jaeshin’s. she waved back and hesitated for a second before she moved toward him. there was a part of her that was sure that he looked familiar, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on it. “ do i know you? ” she questioned, trying to figure it out.

yeri loved the bookstore. it was her absolute favorite place to be. she knew that bookstore’s across the world were dying because people preferred to download books to their phone or whatever device they had, but there was just something about books. getting to hold one in her hand and smell the pages. it was her safe place. it had been a slow day so she had wandered into the back to read. she was sitting on the ground, focusing on the words so much that she didn’t hear the jingle signaling someone walking through the door. then she head a familiar voice. she stood up quickly, walking towards the voice. “ areum? ” confusion coloring her features when she saw her older sisters. she couldn’t help but be slightly worried that something had happened to cause the older to show up out of the blue. “ is everything okay? ”
