It's really funny to me that people complain about the pixel art in Stardew Valley, but when they make custom portraits or mods to change the characters to look "cuter" they always stick out like a sore thumb and look terrible in game. Like I really think they try to compare it to stuff like Fields of Mistria, and it's just a different vibe. If you want anime, play something anime. Stardew is Not anime, and that's fine, but calling it ugly is a stretch.
