It’s called The House That Came In The Mail and it’s a wonderful history of Sears Roebuck homes as well. 

I know that these days Sears is just another failing department store, but their mail order catalog is an invention of great historic and cultural importance for a number of reasons, and should be remembered as such.

no you know what I’m not done. We have been begging for hundreds of years, politely, academically, kindly, for the Vatican to return what it stole. Or if not that, to allow for Jewish scholars to have access to their archives (the number of questions and arguments that resulted from divergent manuscripts later in history that these documents could solve!) or if not that then at least acknowledge that fact that these documents were at best stolen, most likely looted, and at worst taken at swordpoint and killed for, and they refuse. idk who needs to hear this but when your english teacher asks you to explain why an author chose to use a specific metaphor or literary device, it’s not because you won’t be able to function in real-world society without the essential knowledge of gatsby’s green light or whatever, it’s because that process develops your abilities to parse a text for meaning and fill in gaps in information by yourself, and if you’re wondering what happens when you DON’T develop an adult level of reading comprehension, look no further than the dizzying array of examples right here on tumblr dot com

Surprisingly, no! Which is weird because there were about 7 of us and we were all VERY goth and almost as drunk and kinda stood out on a sunny Wednesday morning and just standing at the side of the square watching the fallout and laughing. We weren’t trying to hide or anything, but the cops were just “Did you see who did this?” and we went “… Nah.” and they went “Okay let us know if you see anyone suspicious or remember anything that might help” and left.
