have i mentioned how much i love urax and how i could think about them forever because i don't think i mention it enough (commission made for me by syaoran_miu on vgen!!)
Well you know what actually... I will say it, but does anyone else feel like Ganymede might be genuinely depressed as of late?
Take the entire rogue planets/solar system rebellion arc, Ganymede never seems happy there, any time he's on the screen he always looks annoyed at best, if not outright pissed off, which i mean he doesn't appear a lot, but it still feels that he isn't exactly in the best state of mind
While you can put this onto the fact Ganymede's development had him become more serious, mind me that Ganymede still acts this way even in situations that looked like teasing
This particular scene is especially showing that as Io and Europa were laughing, over Ganymede's much serious attitude and mind me, unlike them we never saw Ganymede laughing over Callisto comment of "starting another revolution"
Or how he seemed so uncaring about them being forced to resque a million planets. Jupiter, Europa and Callisto are all sad, Io looks worried. Ganymede just stared with a pokerface
The only moment I can remember of Ganymede being genuinely happy was his reaction of proceeding with the revolution (and he technically wasn't happy with it in the beginning)
And even afterwards the first moment we saw him, Ganymede had returned to being serious and commanding
It just comes to a coint when I personally see it as Ganymede not enjoying things
Jupiturn’s wedding outfits
They need some new hairstyles and stuff, but they’re still pretty and happy to be husbands
Also is there a Jupiturn wedding fic anywhere?
commenters…. we need to talk. (a rant)
i don’t typically have any issue with anyone who reads my fics because i have no dni, i block freely, and i try to be as respectful as possible no matter who the person is but…
You people DO realize us authors can see what you comment, especially in a thread. And im pretty sure you know that if you have some “negative” things to say you keep them to yourself.
you should also know that not everyone likes “criticism”, or things under that category such as “i think you should’ve (blah blah blah)”. no matter what your beliefs are, some people, including myself, do not like that.
it can bring down an authors esteem especially since majority of the time we look for input from readers to motivate us to write..
now, i try to write for myself, but due to my own issues im constantly seeking positive feedback from people so I’m never discouraged to do my thing… and when i get criticism—or anything negative i tend to overthink it and believe I SUCK at my work.
i already went to my friends, partner and whatnot about this, and i was originally going to just ignore it and go about my day but. it’s been brought to my attention again and I can’t help but feel upset about it.
a few days ago I got a comment on one of my recent works “Behind His Mask”, yknow, the au I constantly speak about here. the one fic I rewrote from 2 years ago where mercury kills everyone. yea so,
And then, my response
I’m not crazy I’m not crazy
Im just appalled on how this person strictly believes criticism as feedback 💔
In my response, I tried to be as respectful as possible without making it that clear I was upset. I don’t want to scare my readers away hegeg.
If an author doesn’t specifically ask for criticism… I don’t think you should give them any??. That should be basic knowledge for anyone commenting on a fic.
Then, not even a good few days later,
Now im riled up again because why. WHY would you have this conversation while I’m right here, like it’s not MY fanfic you’re commenting on. like you’re not in my face saying this where I can see it.
It sounds like they’re implying I have zero media literacy and—I’m unsure how to feel about that.
I guess thanks for taking the time out of your day to read my fanfic, but if you don’t like something about it maybe keep that bit to yourself???it’s mines, written for myself, not you.
Ihehshs I don’t know. Maybe I am dragging it but just to be clear,
Please don’t comment criticism on mines, nor ANYONE’S fic unless they explicitly ask for it.
Criticism might be a form of feedback, but not everyone wants it!
Thanks for reading

solar noir
Whatever girl
Jupiter: I swear if you try to hurt my moon I will...
Triton: With all respect, even if I wanted to hurt Callisto, she would've kicked my ass just for daring to think about it.
Triton: Also, even if I survived that, I think your other moons would've gotten me way before you did.
Triton: and, no offence, but they are way scarier than you are
PORK SODA MEME - TITANYMEDE ANGST

I hate this but I’ll still post it
Anyways it’s humanized Saturn
How is it that Neptune being annoying and kind of unlikeable in this arc actually makes me like him more
... well I mean, Neptune is my least fav exactly because he is always treated like some pure innocent being that can do no wrong, so having him annoying other characters (and being called out of that) is actually pretty cool
Well you know what actually... I will say it, but does anyone else feel like Ganymede might be genuinely depressed as of late?

after sitting down and catching up completely with all of solarballs, i can now officially and full heartedly say that the sun’s “redemption” was the worst thing i have ever seen and i struggle to understand how people are blindly accepting them as being one big family after all of that 😭 and i mean every fucking arc is getting stupider and stupider and recycling the same tropes again and again but WORSE. and also i can remember like 3-4 times that one of the characters has said, “you don’t get it, do you?” what i don’t get is why alvaro won’t hire some better writers bc the current writers are just completely butchering the show time and time and time again 😭💔 it’s hard to watch fr
Actually, yeah.
Huge Sun fan here, I do agree his redemption arc was flawed. Very flawed. I think Sol's overall character and story has insane potential and was done as good as it could be considering the show he's from, but that doesn't necessarily make it beautiful, insane, powerful storytelling. I've said before to some people in the discord server about a similar topic that some characters in the show are, in a way, too complicated for the writers to handle correctly (ironic considering they made them.) Different example here so I can have an excuse to talk about writers neglect, Neptune.
Neptune, my second favourite who I love dearly, is a really interesting character that also has huge amounts of potential only for them to avoid covering his mental illness properly and are instead dumbing it down to silly comedy gags which are funny on surface level, but then you think about it harder and it comes off ableist. Neptune isn't "dumb" or anything like that, he is very intelligent, but his literal disability limits him from being totally alike to most others in the Solar System. He went through billions of years of total isolation (outside of his moons, who seem to frequently leave him alone anyway to go and do their own thing) out of fear of what could happen if he leaves his orbit, leading to him developing some serious mental issues (eg memory loss, visual and auditory hallucinations, etc) and you're telling me we should just play this off as a comedic relief character? I don't buy it.
(Little note here: Neptune's character arc is part of my personal complaints about Sol's character arc, but we'll get to that soon enough.)
They've done something similar with Sol's arc. Although they actually acknowledged his behaviour was wrong, they "resolved" this in the worst way possible: rushing it. This is a reoccurring theme in SB where they start a character central arc, completely butcher it because they make it go way too quickly or even too slowly, then make a controversial conclusion that sparks a lot of debates in the fandom. In this situation, I would have liked Sol's redemption to be slower.
Although I do enjoy the way they make his past impulses and instincts linger in his head (eye twitching heavily when asked about leaving orbits, harsh amounts of hesitating to say it's safe to go about their lives freely) I think they need to have spaced it out way more than just a couple of conversations with the remaining members of the SS. Earth and the gang did the best they could, sure, but that shouldn't have been enough if you get what I mean. Sol's mental issues are not things that can be so easily helped by non-professionals. Speaking as someone who's got some pretty serious issues of my own, conversations and comfort from your friends aren't what's gonna help you long term; this stuff WILL drag out. Especially in the Sun's case, it would take a very long time realistically to make the progress he did in the show. He should not be this stable right now, and his planets shouldn't assume this either. They were right to be confused.
Sol has done a lot of harm to the Solar System. Coming back to my point about Neptune earlier, it went as far as some of them being terrified of going out of bounds out of fear of intense injury. That is not a healthy relationship. If we are to say we are okay with them coming back to Sol, it should have taken longer for them to adjust again. So, unless we've had a big time skip between the end of the Rogues arc and the beginning of the Chrysalis arc, the peace as of now is questionable.
I'm glad I got to talk about this tbh lol, thanks for pointing out the flaws with his writing. Some aspects of this show make me very glad fanfic writers exist.
when people say my name im like. cant believe i exist
