haena pushed her bottom lip out in a bit of a pout, wrapping her arms back around yein in turn. she was so proud of this kid. she’d been quite a bit older than yein when they debuted– seeing that little girl grow into the strong and powerful woman she was today was incredible to watch. yein was truly a sister to haena, and she was so proud of her. and all she’d accomplished. 

she took a deep breath as she rested against haena’s shoulder, wiggling her arm around in the hug so she could wipe her eyes before her makeup got ruined, pulling away only slightly so she could look haena in the eye. “i’m so happy you’re here. this means so much to me.”

“the styling was cute! i know matty is a little upset she didn’t get to actually dye her hair that mint color, though,” giselle laughed. “you get bragging rights? my love and attention? a shout out on my socials for your next comeback?”

“oh, god-- it would look cute for the first week, but i can’t imagine that colour would take to hair long term. she might be better off,” yein snorted. “you’d shout me out anyway, unnie. you love me. and my music. you just can’t help it.”

“i bet if you ask they’ll let you do it! this is a nice big reunion, after all! i think it’d be all the more special if you did the choreo,” jinjoo said.

“i think so too. and it would be such a departure from my first run with reign. i never got to choreograph for us in the old days, even though i wanted to so badly,” she commented.

“ahh, you know, that could be funny,” jinkyung giggled. “i bet production could set something fun up with that. i know you were joking, but it’s good tv.” she took yein’s hand and gave it a squeeze. “it will mean so much to goeun. of course, because it’s korea, we have to frame it as just a fan thing, but she’s been so enamored with you since the moment she heard a reign song.”

“well, min is a good sport-- i’m sure he’d be down,” yein giggled. she squeezed her senior’s hand back, face basically a recreation of the 🥺 emoji. “i’m honored. that’s seriously so flattering. i would love to help make her day.”

“i’m excited too! i wonder what the choreography will look like…” she mused

“i’ve been thinking about that a lot-- i wonder if higher has a choreographer already, or if that’s something i can take on myself,” she said, thinking aloud. “i had some ideas.”

jinjoo blushed. “well….i could never come close to the original, but i try my best,” they mumbled. “thanks, unnie. that means a lot coming from you.”

“you’re being modest, but i’ll accept the compliment,” yein laughed. “i really can’t wait to be on a song with you. i’m excited.”

“well, i certainly know now! and i know not to get on your bad side, of course.”

“we’ll get them off your case– i promise. them being upset when none of us are just seems ludicrous,” byul sighed

“it seems ludicrous, but to be fair, some of your fanbase is nuts, byul. you can’t deny that. some of them take things real far,” yein pointed out

“i get that, but when you get to the level we’re at now, you can never make anyone happy. all we can do is give a statement on why the decisions we made were made, and hope most will understand,” giselle retorted

“says the woman who won’t get all the hate,” yein teased back, rolling her eyes. “yeah, okay. i’m in. i guess. i feel bad and don’t like it, but i suppose i’m in.”

“now i’m gonna hold you to that. i want an all-suit comeback, and if i don’t get one, i’m boycotting.”

“well, i wouldn’t want a boycott on my hands, would i...”

“because, it’s a feature. this isn’t a song for five people. it’s a song split between reign as an artist, and you as an artist. you’re naturally going to get more of a feature,” byulah answered. “jinjoo is fine. i think she’s just more excited to be on set with haena more than anything.”

“you know that, and i know that, and we understand the logic, but i’m still worried about what your fans will say. i can see them getting really upset on jinjoo’s behalf,” yein pointed out.
