heavily scarred (burned) on the left side of his body (mostly his arm and side) from an accident that occurred in december while he was off - duty, which he has been forcing his body to recover from ever since, much to doctorsā chagrin and growing concern. during his hospitalization he was contacted by a woman claiming to be his birth mother, & while heās been speaking to her, he hasnāt informed his family of what he mightāve learned. terrified to face the truth. more of a coward than he thinks he is, emotionally.
loves his job fiercely but has been borderline obsessively throwing himself at it as soon as he got the all clear that he could return.
was married. is married, technically, though the divorce gets closer and closer to being finalized every day, to the same person heās been with since high school. doesnāt know how to not be married. doesnāt know how to navigate a world that had once seemed simple and spelled out but now is tumbling, twisting, tearing itself apart. doesnāt know how to explain that heās grieving more than a relationship, but doesnāt want anyone to know either, lest he exhaust them with his honesty. wears his ring on a chain but who knows how long thatāll last ?
