ough i'm so soft for the way ye li just casually drapes herself across mo xiuyao - when she's drunk, when she's tired, when she's just kinda bored and wanting his attention. it's already a very sweet gesture but especially so given that these two scream touch starved, and with how violently they both treat their own bodies when stressed

charmed that my only critique of zhan zhao adventures is that they invariably end each episode mid sentence. i like to think its because if they didn't cut in the middle of a dialogue scene then they'd have to split up one of their god tier fight scenes, and they knew better.

looooooving the fight choreography in zhan zhao adventures, i get so amped when a lead has enough stunt training that they can properly film the action scenes

finally started vibing with A Splendid Match during the last several episodes - i just really like the leads' married dynamic. like the scene where they were mirroring each other on their wedding night? absolutely adorable. also i appreciate that they've finally managed to meld their story lines; the show feels way more cohesive now. that being said, idk what the plot for the last few eps is going to be? i've seen previews of some kind of war situation but i don't think we've gotten setup for that yet.....interested to see where it's going.

i think i'd be more into this drama if either lead ever made, like....... expressions. it was more obvious in FL at first but now that ML is getting screentime it's like oh i see. you're both like this.

wow i loved that ending holy cow, like how slow the last two episodes are?? how the inevitable grief builds and builds and then we just sit in it for a while. no immediate catharsis, just watching he simu beg for the second time for duan xu not to leave her all alone. and duan xu - who really did accomplish all he wanted and even got to see a world where he got his last wish - feels her pain even in death and takes on her obsession as his own. like!!!!! that is truly some next level devotion, and also a great way for the story to have its cake and eat it too. i was crying for basically the whole last ep and just loved every moment of it. what a good fuckin show

UGH THE FIGHTS IN THIS SHOW ARE SO HYPE, I LOVE IT

i've thus far avoided spoilers for love beyond the grave but ah jeez i can tell from episode 37 already being such a damn gut punch that this ending is probably going to ruin me. i'm not ready, i love these characters so much ToT

ough bro my heart, just finished ep 35 and that last scene suddenly reminded me of their talk way back in the early eps, when duan xu was making his bet with he simu. he was so confident she'd grow to like him enough that she wouldn't be able to bare taking his senses if that would hurt him. and now that's exactly what he wants her to do, but he was right!!! she loves him too much!!! and that's hurting him too!!! aaahhhhh!!!!

been trying to figure out what veil of shadows is about just from gifsets and all i've got so far is that it's basically fangs of fortune: electric boogaloo, except now instead of everyone having an alter ego/past life, it seems that everyone has that plus a fursona

waaaaah duan xu and he simu continue to be so CUTE together!! every look is just gooey with affection.

was so excited for rebirth based solely on liking the leads' previous projects, so i basically went in site unseen, no trailers no summary no nothin. so obvs i didn't realize it's like a prequel/sequel/remake of another show 😅 so those first few eps......inscrutable lol. i heard the original series is really good tho?? so i'll probably move that onto the watch list instead and revisit rebirth later.
