âI didnât want you all to change your plans because of me. Apparently, Iâve failed.â And of course it was Sirius who stayed. For whatever reason, the other man has been clinging to him a bit lately. Not that heâs complaining, heâs simply curious. Sirius is a widely wanted man in this school, and he could have attention from anyone he liked if it came down to it. Why he chooses to stay with the outcast werewolf is beyond him. He only hopes that doesnât change âNow youâre stuck here with me and missing out on all the fun James had planned for you.â The tone in which he says it is borderline playful, though hereâs a ring of truth to the words. Guilt hides behind those soft brown eyes, as he constantly feels like something of a burden in their group. With the potion, the way they all rally around him for his time of the month, he constantly feels in debt. And here it is again.Â
âHey, weâll have a brilliant holiday.â Sirius promised, gesturing between them to further emphasize that would be a group activity. He always enjoyed Remusâ company. Underneath the soft spoken, reserved man was a dry wit and sharp sarcasm that never ceased to amuse him. It was part of the reason Sirius always sat between James and Remus. He loved Peter too, of course. If he broke things down, he just loved everyone differently. James was his brother in everything but blood. Prongs had seen him at his worst and still stuck by him at his best, the loyalty he felt for him was completely unwavering. Peter was more like a little brother, keeping an eye out for him and picking on him affectionately. What he felt for Remus⌠that was different. It confused him for a very long time, honestly. It wasnât until he had a sex dream about someone he considered his best friend when he realize his feelings werenât friendly. They ran a lot deeper than that. Sirius had tried dropping subtle hints but it didnât seem to get him anywhere. Maybe it wasnât the brightest idea to spend the entire Christmas Holiday alone with Remus but, he was willing to take that chance. A large part of him was really hopeful. âSo, what are we doing today?â Sirius smirked as he wagged his brows playfully.Â
Hereâs the thing. Remus has always been different. From the time he was two years old and making sand levitate in the sandbox. Being four years old and already reading and writing. Then thereâs the whole furry alter go heâs go going on. Point is, there isnât a single hair or blood cell in or on him that is anything close to normal. Because of that, he wasnât entirely surprised when he realized quite some time ago that he fancied men. Women too, of course. Yet such a thing isnât very welcomed in their world, or the muggle one. Itâs something that people - on the occasions they do indulge - tend to keep on the hush hush. It makes sense then, doesnât it, that when Remus started falling for his stunningly gorgeous, mouthy friend... he did little else but sigh and relish his time alone in the room of requirement. What? A mans got needs, and when youâve got nosy & clingy friends, you gotta do what you gotta do.Â
There are still times that he thinks, perhaps... maybe... could Sirius be...? No, of course not. He couldnât be that lucky. Could he?Â
The playful expression gets the start of a smile from Remus. âYou tell me. I highly doubt youâll let me spend the hols studying.âÂ
