I am begging and hoping that okarun gets his ass kicked resulting him doubting if he belongs to the occult club anymore now that he doesn't have powers. Insight into what his life was like before possession now that he has go back to it. Also tons of sad feelings. Do you get me.

no but in all seriousness, any path towards more information on okarun’s backstory is something i desperately want. the mystery of okarun’s parents and home life is probably the biggest one for me right now (ignoring count saint germain stuff) and i love the idea of an arc from okarun’s perspective where he feels like he’s getting left behind.

i would love if momo becomes big again without him helping AT ALL - and maybe she even ends up saving him - which results in okarun distancing himself from everyone (which we know is a self sabotaging tendency he canonically has). an arc like this would be great because i could totally see it ending with momo returning his confession, which brings him back in the loop so they can work on his self esteem issues together! since just being in a relationship obviously doesn’t fix all your problems lol

I also want to jump in on this and add that this would also be an amazing growth for Momo as well given this opportunity. We've seen a lot that a huge motivator of Okarun's development is to protect Momo, even though she doesn't need it most of the time, when things get real tough he pulls through. Now we have a situation (or as least I hope this is the situation actually) where even if things get tough, he is completely helpless to actually do much. Instead this gives Momo the chance to step up, and protect Okarun when he's in a life threatening position, and hopefully lead to her expanding her abilities more.

I do love this litmus test for the basis of the cast's friendship with Okarun though. Are they friends with him on the basis that he's reliable? Will their friendships begin to fizzle when he is powerless to support them? As a reader I believe and hope this is not the case, but it's predictable by his character that he may begin to believe so.

This has the opportunity to be an could awesome reestablishment of the foundations of friendships, relationships, and power dynamics.

#as for predictions of momos power growth... shrinking power is my bet #this chapter judt gave us some insight that theres another layer yet once again to the super natrual #only small things see small things which means theres so kuch more happening that no one could know about unless theyre small #as we see by the normal classmates as well small things are invisible to normal people #even though momo is just a shrunken person the rules of Small Things is already applying to her #i would even guess its another rule of the universe like how the concept of the Spiral was introduced
