Maybe it's just me, but at this point why does the weird route feel more impactful and important to the story than the real route?

It's not just the shock of what happened with Kriss and Noelle; the writing isn't engaging as it used to be.

(now i want to preface this by saying i don’t usually go here but-)

i think the normal route feels less impactful and engaging (idk if that even the right word. bc i’m interested in where it goes. but) because the player is left in the dark so much we genuinely don’t know what’s going on. it is a very cool concept to seperate the player + main character (especially a silent protag in particular) you play as and make them fundamentally disagree, but this is not an easy feat with a silent protagonist with unpredictable goals + standing.

and it raises so many questions. even when we do “normal” or good, does kris even disagree with us? there are repetitive themes that are re-inforced but is there a particular point? the story is hinged on our progression within the plot so why is it that we are constantly burdening kris? the game won’t play itself……

i don’t think deltarune is one of those games that should be releasing with months in between waits. sm of it is hinged on fandom buzz and theories and nostalgia bait. we are sitting and waiting to be shocked until the end and the game is dragging it imo especially if there is ONE true ending. maybe it’s very early to say but i personally think, unlike undertale, deltarune’s unpredictability is holding it back

i think the weird route is more engaging because on top of the little dreemurr-holiday past stuff as a preface it’s very clear cut we’re not doing what we’re supposed to do and kris is fighting against that and noelle is actively being affected (progress we can actually see!). we don’t have to play 20 questions and we aren’t being spoonfeed that we have to do the right thing over and over
