Martin and Sara couldn't be together because Martin wasn't Jewish, so he had to leave.

Radzig and Jana couldn't be together because Jana was a commoner, so she found herself someone else she could start a family with.

Henry and Hans can't be together either, but i like to think Henry still sees their situation as an upgrade in comparison to the other doomed love stories in his family, because they can at least be together, not openly of course, but no one's throwing him out of Rattay, no one's telling him he's not allowed to be around Hans. from what Hans says in the last conversation we can have with him, it sounds like he's willing to make it work somehow. and i think that Henry, having heard the stories of his parents, of Sara and Martin, appreciates the sentiment and is willing to fight for their love, no matter what.

I did just finish my part 2 comic of Hansry getting bad tattoos and will probably be posting that later bwahahha
