It’s already been nine months since the last post, which surprised me quite a bit. Nevertheless, the blog isn’t dead, I just had a ton of stuff going on. :) During the next week, I’ll upload some pictures I took in Korea last week. While I know that the blog is mainly about Kyōto and Japan, it still was a unique experience and I would like to share it.

For all those of you who are interested in Classical Japanese; you might want to have a look at this new app allowing you to study hentaigana anywhere and any time.

This is a collection of photos taken at various places in Kyōto between 1870 and 1915 and made accessible by the Google Cultural Institute. For those interested in history, why not have a look? It’s in Japanese, but you still have the pictures to look at, if you cannot read the characters.

So Kyōto has been named world’s best city two years in a row. It doesn’t surprise me at all, but anyway, I thought I’d share the happy news. ^^
