sometimes i think abt iruka and i lose my mind bc this man was like 24 when he almost died for naruto and sm younger when naruto came into his life. & i think abt how he never owed naruto a single damn thing & could have hated him like every other fucking villager but he didn't. he didn't hate him. he saw him for who he was. A CHILD. i think abt how much he loved naruto and how much he cared abt naruto and how he never HAD TO he JUST DID. & LORD i think abt how many times naruto would have given up if he didn't have iruka, who loved and acknowledged and believed in him, & who taught him that life was worth living, in his life in the very beginning. & i just. i have to sit down now.
