I know Iām priveledged, so I always end up writing about wealthy people. Billionaires here and there, designer things, money disposed of at the drop of a hat. I live in quite an affluent neighborhood where itās hard to find someone not driving an 100k car. I literally cannot tell you how many g wagons, range rovers, Teslaās, or Maseratiās I see in a day. Hell. Two of my friends almost got hit by lamborghinis, and no they were not together. Two separate occasions.Iām surrounded by wealth, and even though Iām not as wealthy as those other people, I usually donāt think twice when I see an 100k car itās normal for me. It wasnāt until I talked to one of my teachers that I realized that the cars I see everyday are far from normal. He told my class that once you leave our town, Volkswagens and Hyundaiās are seen for miles and nobody cares if they crash because theyāre so cheap. He said that once you leave my town itās rare to see a car over 20k driving around. That might be a little bit of an over exaggeration but I think you get the point. I want to write diversely about people of all different status and income but I just canāt find a way to connect to the less fortunate and write them justice, rather than a stereotypical āpoor personā any help would be greatly appreciated.
