I tried to look cool in front of a girl today by leaning against a door but it turns out the door wasn’t closed all the way so it swung open and I fell and landed on my back.

Hey there. I know it can be hard sometimes when you don’t fit the mould of what people expect, but never forget, you have worth. There’s nothing wrong with you for not being cis or heterosexual. Never apologize for existing. Never try to be something you’re not to appease someone who will never love you as you are. You don’t have to show respect to people who would never do the same for you. Don’t let anyone convince you that you are lesser than human because of your identity.

I talked to an 83 year old neighbor today. She was very sweet, and told me about her non-binary grandkid, who was around the same age as me. Despite being from a different time, she was doing her best to understand, and continued to love her grandkid. My point is, I know things look bleak right now, anti-trans laws are being proposed in red states by senators who are old enough to be fossils, but there’s still some good older people out there. Times are changing, and things will get better. Keep fighting for equality, keep being yourself, keep on living. You matter, and you’re worth it.
