leon's really, really offline and prefers youtube shorts because “tiktok’s algorithm isn’t good for your attention span” so he’s about 5 years behind on memes and internet beef
also has his phone on grayscale because he read somewhere that it makes it less appealing to be on your phone, so he doesn’t develop an addiction
you fill him in on random internet influencer drama that he doesn’t really care about, but he’s a little nosy and also likes drama when it doesn’t involve him, so he listens anyway and also gets way too deep into it
has no idea what you’re saying half the time because of all the internet slang and references you use in your daily vocabulary
"hey, how did my shirt look this morning? it's new." "it ate, honestly." "8? that's it? out of 10?" "no, leon, ATE. like past tense of eat. it means it looks great!"
(the next morning) "leon, is your coffee okay? i made it a little different today." "yeah, it's consuming." "oh, that's not..."
will always plan things for you two to do outdoors together because he wants you to get off your phone and “enjoy nature while you can”
this includes easy hikes and picnics together!
sometimes when he has had a long, hard day at work, he’ll freshen up, get into bed with you, and watch you scroll through your tiktok for you page
you have to explain half of the tiktoks to him because he’s not up to date on trends or anything
literally living under a rock but he’s a quick learner!
was really confused when you challenged him to do a plank until failure
your facial expressions when he started to groan gave away your entire plan (he did it until failure anyway)
sometimes when it’s late at night and you’re still scrolling while leon’s about to fall asleep, he takes your phone, turns it off, and pulls you close to his chest, stroking your hair and pressing gentle kisses to your head until you fall asleep
hates when you ask him questions like “would you still love me if I was a worm” and other variations
his answers are always something along the lines of “the internet is rotting your brain, I’d love you even if you were a tiny little invisible plankton in the ocean”
for example, one conversation went like this:
“would you still love me if I was a mosquito?” "of course I’d love you. honey, I’d feed you everyday and let you sleep right next to my ear so I can hear your beautiful buzzing all the time and I’d save a spot for you on my arm for whenever you get hungry.”
came home from work one day with the most confused face ever and when you asked him what happened, he said, “I’m not even sure. I was briefing some rookies and all I said was ‘you have 6, maybe 7 hours’ and they looked at each other and did this weird thing with their arms.”
you cackled at him and that confused him even more. after you laughed uncontrollably for about 10 minutes, you tried to explain it to him and he still didn’t understand.
“it still makes no sense to me, but whatever. back in my day, it was 69, not 67.”
he tried to use 67 at work the next day and did the hand gesture totally wrong. let’s just say that even though the rookies at work are scared of him and respect him a lot, they all make fun of him behind closed doors and refer to him as “unc.”
one time, after a lot of begging, you convinced leon to film a tiktok trend with you and it unintentionally went viral, but for all the wrong reasons. the comment section was a mess of thirsty comments and reaction pictures of abby lee miller.
“why are they calling me white chocolate? ‘are you happily taken or just taken?’ what the hell does that even mean? and who is this random lady in the comments? why is everyone commenting pictures of her?”
there’s days where he really appreciates your sense of humor and pop culture references. he takes everything way too seriously and you makes him realize that he needs to slow down and find joy in the smaller things.
he likes seeing how it distracts you from things you might be stressed about and how it can bring a smile to your lips when you’ve been frowning at work all week.
