Honk honk!!
I 3d modeled some Canada Geese having a fun little day at a park because geese are cute and I love them <3
It's always so weird to come down from the biology heavens to see what the average person believes about animals, plants, ecosystems, just the world around them. I don't even mean things that one simply doesn't know because they've never been told or things that are confusing, I'm talking about people who genuinely do not see insects as animals. What are you saying. Every time I see a crawling or fluttering little guy I know that little guy has motivations and drive to fulfill those motivations. There are gears turning in their head! They are perceiving this world and they are drawing conclusions, they are conscious. And yet it's still a whole thing if various bugs of the world feel pain or if they are simply Instinct Machines that are Not Truly Aware of Anything At All????? Help!!!!!! How can you look at a little guy and think he is just the macroscopic animal version of a virus
i cannot emphasize enough how important it is that you should ideally give birth in a fully equipped and staffed medical facility or if you insist on giving birth through an alternative method you should be within minutes of a hospital and i mean under 5 minutes if you’d like me to be really fucking frank
like i can get on board with so much feminist theory and stuff, truly, and i do acknowledge that obstetrics and gynaecology as a field holds blind spots that are egregious (e.g. infant and maternal mortality in the black community) but there is no empowerment in risky birthing practices that our foremothers, and i’m not mincing words, often suffered through. birthing is natural, but it is not “easy” or even “innate”, it is best practiced guided and witnessed by those that know what to do in an emergency. you are not reconnecting to any innate feminine nature by practicing dangerous birthing practices—you are recreating a time when the bodies and lives of women barely mattered and it was expected that death would/could occur at insane and tragic rates.
this is a hill i will spend the rest of my days fighting on because while i am not interested in birthing children myself, i have an incredible passion and interest in the field of labour and delivery. it’s been one of my greatest joys to play even a small part in delivering neonates. i do not want anyone to risk their babies over a deeply, deeply misguided idea of free birth being “the natural way” when natural is not always synonymous with the safest way.
So many people think it's either midwife or doctor. It's not. Have your midwife or doula in the hospital room with you, I promise the doctors don't give a shit. Hell, you can have her do the delivery itself and just have the doctors there as emergency backup! But for the love of your baby, go to the fucking hospital.
yup. a lot of hospitals are willing to work with you to realize your birthing plan as much as they can within safe limits and parameters. my hospital is closely and highly allied with midwives all up and down the coast, with the explicit instruction to call the midwife when we know a labouring patient is about to deliver so we can respect their plan. genuinely, you can have almost any kind of birth you want—just make sure that there are qualified professionals in attendance, and it’s not just midwives or OBGYNS you need. you have no idea when you’ll need a respiratory therapist on call, you have no idea when you will need a blood transfusion within minutes or risk certain death, L&D nurses do not have the same training as NICU nurses if a baby declines rapidly. it’s a literal thousand things that can go wrong and you should be in the best place for them to go wrong.
Actually yeah, while I'm still thinking about this.
@creatingblackcharacters is hosting another CBC Book Club, starting on 06/14/2026. We'll be reading "Medical Apartheid - The Dark History of Medical Experimentation on Black Americans from Colonial Times to the Present." I would recommend it.
I'm putting my previous thoughts on this thread below:
#I can't go fully into this rn #but I think there should be much more than a footnote about misogynoir and Black maternal death rates #even IF you have someone to advocate for you. a doula a midwife or a family member #that doesn't negate the racist practices that go on in hospitals #Especially pertaining to Black and Native pregnant peoples #up to and Including straight up just taking your child away. #advocacy is one thing but you have to discuss the actual options presented #because as is hospitals are staffed by people. who may be racist #and if so will leave you to death or worse
The task of buying dinner falls on me as my workplace is nearest to our home. Proceeded to the Economy Rice (菜饭) stall to select the dishes for mum and myself. Picked amaranth greens or Chinese spinach (苋菜) stir-fry, a curry chicken drumstick 🍗 with potato 🥔 and stewed egg tofu to go with the white rice.
For mum, I chose Sichuan Vegetable or zha cai (榨菜) & pork stir-fry. The pickle is made from the knobby, fist-sized, swollen green stem of Brassica juncea, subspecies tsatsai. The stem is first salted and pressed, and dried before being rubbed with hot red chili paste and allowed to ferment in an earthenware jar. I also got her a braised chicken drumstick 🍗 for the takeaway pack.

Isn’t it weird how the school uniforms of underaged girls in Japan have been so sexualized as to become ubiquitous and uncontroversial in many circles? Isn’t it weird how for many people on this app the sexiest thing they can imagine is a young woman or girl wearing the uniform of an elementary or middle schooler? But it’s treated as if it’s somehow different because they’re Japanese, in line with a long history of Americans using Japan as fertile ground for consequence-free sex crimes since WWII
Looney Tunes shenanigans (x and x)

As Eid approaches, streets fill with the joy of children wearing new clothes and celebrating…
But my children in Gaza are deprived of the simplest joys of childhood.
No Eid clothes, no toys, and not even a sense of safety or happiness.
It breaks my heart to see the sadness in their eyes as they watch other children celebrate while I cannot provide even their basic needs.
All I wish for is to see a smile on their faces and let them experience the joy of Eid like children everywhere else in the world.
Any support, no matter how small, can make a huge difference in my children’s lives and bring them a moment of happiness amid the harsh conditions in Gaza.💔💔💔🙏🙏🙏😭😭😭🍉🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸
“It just means you have to work double as hard as most people!”
Well maybe I don’t WANT to work double as hard as abled people!! Maybe I deserve a BREAK!! Maybe I’ve been working MORE THAN double as hard for MY WHOLE LIFE and it’s led me to immense burnout & caused me to develop several MORE disabilities!! Maybe I should be ACCOMMODATED so I don’t have to KILL MY BODY AND BRAIN over trying to do what abled people can do!! Maybe I DON’T have to work double as hard!! Maybe if there’s the option to let me NOT work double as hard, I should have it, because I’m already working double as hard JUST TO SURVIVE!!
Why do you think disabled people deserve less rest than mentally & physically abled people?
getting my labs done today i was thinking about years ago when i went to the doctor and i was like 'i've been to another doctor already but he wouldn't listen to me. something's wrong. i've never been this tired in all my life. i know i'm in college and i know i have depression but this is different. please you have to try something.'
so the doctor (back then) ordered labs and it turned out my vitamin d level was like 5 or 7 and i've never seen a doctor so elated about lab results in my entire life. she said, 'it's never. vitamin d. but it is this time. we can fix this. you're going to feel better.'
she was literally like

Happy Pride Month!!
We've got no money for our son's trans care!!!
Our last post
Hola, i'm Calli, a nonbinary mexican parent. Both my partner and I are chronically ill, we're the main providers for our family of 9, that includes his mom, dad and sister because they lost everything in a fire back in November 2023. TW for the house after the fire.
We are poor and unemployed, all adults have some chronic condition, chronic pain and we live constantly exposed to mold, rust and other issues the house has. The landlord does jackshit but sure comes to collect rent every now and then.
To top it off i have been getting harrassed by racist unkind people here, making me suicidal.
My blog's archive proving i have been here since 2013, the first post i ever reblogged.
https://chingaderita.tumblr.com/archive/2013/5
I sometimes share recipes too!
I have been offering spanish conversation classes online for $12 usd/hr. Right now im earning $12 a week, do you think I can support a family of 9 with that?
**I tracked down comments in notes ive made through the years, as far as 2016, I did all that even before this new tumblr update showing our comments so I did all that hard work for nothing lol, you can ask for links in my dm's this is already long enough as is.**
Our goal is to get our eldest's a couple of binders, his testosterone and medication he needs for a condition he needs a surgery for but we can't afford.
$0/$500
PAYPAL KOFI THRONE
*We made a throne to show some needs we have but usually don't get because we focus on food and bills, we're behind on rent and bills and need groceries so money would help us even more.
Already explained in another reblog but we're facing the possibility of a flood with the constant rains we're getting here plus there is a water supply shortage. We have no money to get our son's testosterone, medication and trans care and we need to brace ourselves from whatever the next days bring.
PLEASE AT LEAST SHARE!!!!
So, i understand the frustration with the way transmascs seem to envy transfems' bodies and gender presentation, but tbh as a transmasc, i always assumed transfems had similiar feelings? Do you never look at an outfit on someone who had an estrogenated first puberty and think "i wish this would have the same effect on my gender presentation if i wore it too"?
yeah but I'm not a fucking weirdo to them about it. I have the basic respect for their internality required to understand that what for me is aspirational is not so for them, and may be actively uncomfortable or distressing for them
a lot of trans men seem to have no such consideration at all because there are no consequences for making weird, uncomfortable, or invasive comments about a trans woman's body. people aren't watching your behavior (especially your behavior toward trans women) like a hawk ready to strike. you can get away with objectifying trans women, and objectify you do
two years into hrt, a trans guy told me unprompted he'd love to switch bodies with me. which either means
1) my transition has not been sufficiently feminizing and i still look enough like a man to appeal to him
2) he assumed i had a dick specifically and was referring to that
either way is pretty inappropriate. i did not want to be a man's transition goals.
yeah i have on occasion seen people of a variety of genders and envied the way their body developed and mine didn't. i don't think i've ever mentioned it. and as is above, dramatically more often for people aiming to present feminine as well (usually cis women). also as said above, i have never highlighted someone's gender-nonconforming traits as genderfucky unless they specifically told me to do so.
idk. this is weird. don't say this shit.
trans women dont identify with slurs invented for trans men because there arent any and they dont identify with porn terms created to degrade trans men because there arent any and they dont self consciously model their gender presentation off movies meant to demonise trans men as serial killer rapists because there arent any
