The Circus runs on love, really. Why else would anyone create such wonders, but for love? It’s imbued in every show that Celia gives, and laced through every wonder she creates. It’s woven around every marvel that Marco conjures, and penned in every line he writes in his notebooks…

I think it’s important to understand the concrete ways things work and to respect that. But some things shouldn’t be explained, and you have to respect that, too.

Tsukiko’s Christmas cards are always delicate, and tasteful. And, year after year, they always seem to have the same theme - peace. Perhaps it is just her way, for after all, you must be supremely relaxed to tie yourself up in knots without injury. But perhaps it is also merely something she is endlessly seeking. For tranquility does not always go hand in hand with peace. One can have a visage as calm as a frozen lake, but be roiling beneath the icy facade…
